Hard to believe that anyone or thing could make one appreciate Hank Williams Jr's efforts for MNF.
I don't understand the insistence by the networks of using these cheesy band and vocal-driven theme songs, they all sound lame. I guess they are copying the NFL Sunday and Monday night models. What happened to just having a good jingle like the old school NBA on NBC theme? Much better.
I didn't think it was that bad in comparison to other intros. It's better than that country intro on ESPN GameDay. which they've been playing for 15 years. That song doesn't even acknowledge us

Funny you should mention it because it’s by a band I really like. Unfortunately, this isn’t their version, they are a punk rock / glam band from Italy who is obsessed with 70s glam like Slade, Sweet and Trex

I tend to think that “woe is me, the media is biased against us” isn’t true when most sports fans whine. But I actually think there is some reality when it comes to ESPN and PSU - perhaps due to the large number of Syracuse grads in the organization. I dunno. Any other media organization seems to mention us a more representative amount.
I’m going to have to call the Big Ten Network vanquishing any shot of JoePa in any replay a major slight.
I can get behind some of the other songs there, but the original Saturday Night one still started weak, and went a whole order of magnitude weaker with the remake, IMO.
Its not their best song, agreed, but I just found it amusing that they picked some random Italian band for the song.
I really dig their music, but lets just say, as far as lyrics go, english isn't their first language.
To be fair, I didn’t watch the whole nauseating video, but didn’t see any BIG teams. No BIG games on ESPiN/ABC this year is perhaps the reason?
The commercial closes with the white out. We have the respect of the conference.
