PSU Mens bball signs another Euro player

6'9", 240 lber, Tibir Mertic from Slovenia. Good Euro experience. I like how this roster is being completed. Adding height/girth. Euro players are generally fundamentally sound.
I think this will shape up to be a very exciting season. Couple these Euros with Freshman PG Mingo, returning guard Freddie Dellione (sp?), Rice returning from sitting out last year via injury, and Freshman SF Blackwood. The addition of the transfer big from West Chester and the Euro bigs should allow the Freshman big man to redshit, get stronger and develop his game.
I think this team jells during the OOC and can have a .500 record during the B1G season.

It’s likely going to be a long season (or maybe I should say “short season”, since making the Big Ten Tourney will be an uphill battle).

As usual.

Our men's BB program has some good and bad.

I like coach Rhoades and think he calls a pretty good game.
I never liked the BJC as a venue for college basketball. No personality, cold cavern of a place.
I don't think that annually having to rent an entire new team is a program building process model that I can get behind.

In short, we'll suck. (see above)

I don’t necessarily think we will suck but the big 10 is very deep. Especially since the addition of the Pacific coast schools. It takes a lot of talented players just to get into the top half of this conference. I don’t know how the team is shaping up in practice But I think they could actually have a team that’s got five American players on the floor and then they can go with a complete second team of five euros and completely disrupt the rhythm of the game unlikely that happens, but that’s the basketball coaching me trying to think of Ways to get advantages
