I approve of going with whoever offers us the most money.Darn. I do not like this move at all. I get potentially moving on from Nike but Adidas?? Thoughts?

Only needs the BOT stamp of approval next week. Unless Phil Knight steps up quickly it's over. I still don't like the way Phil left Joe to twist on a limb but as the BOT says that is all forgotten nowNot a done deal.
You are probably right on this. Cross country and track & field might be the only PSU sports that this brand switch is viewed as impacting performance.Cross country team won’t be happy

Yeah, if you look at some of the most catastrophic sports scandals and controversies, a common theme has often been Nike enabling them through money and yes men.Fine with me. I can’t stand Nike the company.
My first track shoes I bought in high school were Addidas. My track spikes were Onitsuka Tigers (now Asics). Pumas were also popular then. Nike was the least popular because it was less well known.
The timing of this couldn't be more perfect! My daughter plays D3 soccer and is a cleat lover. She asked for a pair of $325 Nike cleats for this past Christmas for her sophomore year. She had rough 2024 so I bought them reluctantly. Like a cleat is a cleat right? But this is what she asked for thinking I would never buy them. Anyway, they sat in a box until April until she started ramping up her workouts for the season that started last week. 3 weeks ago, she made a cut and one of the cleats tore 3/4 of the way off. I thought, 2 year warranty, we'll just send them back and get a replacement or at least Nike credit. Wrong. They said it was normal wear and tear and didn't even refund the $17 shipping it cost me to send them to inspect. I'll never buy another Nike product ever again.
Again, #effPhilKnight #effNike

I had the same track spikes in HS. It didn’t help running against Cefalo in a 220. All I saw in that race were his giant calves getting further and further away.Fine with me. I can’t stand Nike the company.

So don't wear "high quality" cleats for practice twice a week? Honestly, I'd rather that happen in practice rather than a game. They're junk and the company customer service sucks. I had to have my wife call because I was gonna chew someone's așs if they gave me the answers they gave my wife. I'll be at the White Out screaming that much louder in a few weeks.Wearing them since April? It might be a little early for them to fall apart, but it happens, and I wouldn't expect any kind of refund/replacement.
If you're going to buy ultra-expensive cleats, buy a cheaper pair for most workouts/practices and make the ultra-expensive cleats gamer-only (except to break them in).

Never had this issue in the past 10 years playing year round with indoor, travel and HS. Now she plays much less and this BS happens.Correct. I mean, you can ... just be prepared for them to possibly get shredded. So if you're ballin' on a budget, or are just interested in getting more bang for your buck, buy "gamers" and keep them as such.
Okey doke. Again, that's April-August usage, so poop happens. One of my boys chews through 2 pairs of football cleats per season, and that's over fewer months. It happens. He actually ripped off his front cleat on his New Balance baseball cleats toward the end of the summer season, after 3 months of intermittent usage (mostly practiced and played on turf, so didn't use them that much ... his turfs and moldeds held up). I didn't expect a refund or replacement. We've tried almost all major brands across multiple sports and it's all the same.
The key to longevity, in terms of equipment, is limiting usage. Practice gear and gamer gear. Separate them. And if you game enough (like baseball - especially batting gloves), even having multiple gamers helps them last longer than if you bought one gamer after the other.
Cefalo was fast. I played basketball with him a half-dozen times; he wasn’t the world’s best player but he’d go by you as if you were standing still.I had the same track spikes in HS. It didn’t help running against Cefalo in a 220. All I saw in that race were his giant calves getting further and further away.
That's what his first fiance said.Cefalo was fast...but he’d go by you as if you were standing still.
Adidas is the best. Look at the tracking suits. SO PUMPED
That was ugly, but I wish I myself had had the guts and/or common sense to have done the same thing the day of my first wedding. That would have spared people a lot of grief. I knew it was a mistake but thought we’d be able to make it work. She knew too. Biggest break I ever got in my life was when she walked out on me. Tough lady, smarter than me. I hope she’s happy now. That's what his first fiance said.
