PSU radio call...

I used Sync My Game to listen to the PSU radio call yesterday. Worked very well. But Steve Jones was as terrible as our offense. Over and over and over again identified the wrong players. Wrong players on receptions. Wrong players in motion. Wrong players on tackles. Had Hardy returning the fumble for a touchdown instead of Jacobs. And repeatedly referenced Hardy returning the fumble. I guess if you're ONLY listening to the game, it doesn't really matter. But listening AND watching, it was brutal. I wanted to listen to the PSU call because I think Gus Johnson does a terrible job of identifying the correct players. But Jones said, "hold my beer." On the other hand, Jack Ham is excellent. So now I need a technology to mute Jones and allow me to hear Ham! 😀

What do you expect from a homer that is really not a professional broadcaster? If you are tuning in to a home team call your priority is listening to a cheerleader right? So embrace it.

Well, my post really had nothing to do with Jones being a cheerleader. It was about him saying KLS with the catch when it was Wallace. Or Wallace in motion when it was KLS. Or Hardy with the fumble return when it was Jacobs. Homerism, I expected. Countless errors on who did what, I certainly didn't.

Okay, I did the exact same thing because I couldn't stomach 3+ hours of Gus Johnson slobbering over THE WORLD FAMOUS OHIO STATE BUCKEYES!!!!!!!

"Over and over and over again" is quite a bit of an exaggeration. Did he miss a few players? Yes, he did. But nowhere near as much as you are insinuating.

Not just this game. I’ve been listening to the radio guys while watching the games all season. I like how they identify the players but Jones has been doing what you describe here all season. Fortunately, it’s easy to see on TV what the truth is. I’d rather listen to the radio guys anytime.

+1. I don't know if Steve has a new spotter or what but you are exactly right. I noticed it a lot so far this season. Not so much last season.

Jones should be watching a monitor as you can’t see clearly from way up above in a press box. TV guys have monitors. If he has a monitor then he has other issues. I never listen to him any more because of his homerism. Ham is awesome and is very good at being critical.

Ok. That's how you heard it. I heard it differently. He said the wrong player returned a fumble for a touchdown. If that was the only thing he got wrong, that was too many.

Maybe the transfer portal has Steve all confused.

how does this work if the radio (jones & Ham) is 1-1/2 to Two plays ahead of the tv video?

  1. Simply mute your TV audio and pause the game on your DVR at the opening kickoff or any other specific play.
  2. Open the app or head to your audio streaming source of choice.
  3. Wait for the audio to catch up to the point in which the DVR was paused.
  4. When these two moments line up, un-pause your DVR.
