Don’t generally like weeknight games, but it does mean a lot of eyes will be on the game. Hope they play well.

Seats empty or seats full, Brohm is still a genius. This is what we’re up against.
I don't know who they have to replace David Bell, but they usually have one game wrecker on offense to contend with. PSU was lucky in 2019 when Rondale Moore was injured and didn't play against Penn State.

IIRC, half of Purdue's team was out for that game.
Yeah, I'm sure Brom will find another playmaker this year.

Considering going. Is the stadium right in town? Walking distance to eateries and drinkeries? Thanks AKB!

Yes, the stadium is right in West Lafayette and in walking distance to food and beverage opportunities

Backyard Brawl is same night..
Indeed it is and I will be there. I've been promising a Pitt friend I would go to a Pitt football game with him and I agreed to that one. When I agreed to go I jokingly told him I chose that game because I didn't want to miss a Penn State game and we never play on Thursday nights. I am sure I will be hearing from him soon.

Hotels in the area must be ticked. New date didn’t give them time to adjust rates. Book now as the rates will skyrocket.

Call him the morning of the game and tell him you overdosed on stuffed cabbage the night before. 💩🥬

I stayed in Indy back in 95... I loved the city! May I suggest pork tenderloin sandwiches and a tour of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Scottish Rite Cathedral? A great way to kick off the '22 season... TAKE THE STEAM OUT!

Through a post from this group, I learned that the oldest bar in Indiana is the Knickerbocker Saloon in Lafayette. I’ll definitely wander in for a drink.

Description from their website:

"The Knickerbocker Saloon, Indiana's oldest bar, has stories to share. President Grant, Mark Twain, Al Capone, and Neil Armstrong have visited us for a drink (or several) over the 180 years we have been in business. Established in 1835, the Knickerbocker has been serving Greater Lafayette (and visitors alike) an array of cocktails, beers, and wines, all with our renowned hospitality. We now offer food from Professor Joe's and Digby's. Whether our guests are looking to enjoy a drink or two conversing with friends on our patio, have us cater a private event, or want to have a night out listening to Ryan Rollins, Knickerbocker's own piano man, a People's Live show, or some upcoming local talent, we have you covered."

We like to stay close to explore the campus.
Agree. Been to Purdue 6 times I think. it’s not in the top places to visit in big 10, but over the years it’s grown on me. Staying at Hilton garden on wabash landing. A
aways stay there, convenient to stadium. Scottys sports bar right next door, triple x is iconic burger place, mcgraws steak and seafood on the wabash is good, Bruno’s for Italian, Harry’s is the bar of choice for the alumni.

Scotty’s closed two years ago unfortunately. Hate it, was a solid sports bar with good food. Whenever we’d go up to visit my in-laws over Christmas I’d always stay there one night to “get my hilton nights points bonus” (aka drink and eat at Scotty’s watching football instead of hallmark and the news).

So who is going? Might be worth it. There is some surprisingly good public golf courses in Indiana and I thought a good bargain for the type of courses.
MaconNitt and I already booked a hotel and will take the clubs with us.

@Raise Up Lights Wow. Thanks for the info. Did anything replace Scotty's? That was so convenient . Bruno's is close by.

I just looked and something called Wolfies Grill has opened in its place. Must be less than a year old. Rated 4.3 on google maps. Looks like they might be trying to do a Scotty’s. Hopefully it’s good enough for a few beers and some food as I’ll definitely test it out this Christmas to “get my Hilton bonus points.” Haha
