1) OL (based on proven results/depth)
2) CBs & Nickel(oozing talent)
3) RBs (? mark yet to be answered about RB3 but the talent is there)
4) TEs (talent & depth can go 3-4 dependable players and youth)
5) DEs (I like the starters and the young depth)
6) LBers (I like the first three yet still need two more to raise their game)
7) DTs (Again, excellent starters, but where's the depth?)
8) QBs (? who is a solid, dependable #2)
9) WRs (I like the veterans from portal and some good young talent - hoping for big improvement)
10) Safety (1 excellent starter but who are #s 2-4 ?)
QB & WRs must click and become an added strength and DL & LB starters must not have any major injuries for this team to go deep into CFP and play forr Natty.
Yes, Rojas & Campbell can't get worn down that is why coach Knowles needs two more of the young LBers to improve tobthe point of being dependable in this scheme. Looking at you, Speca & Wiley. One bonus to Knowles' base D is only using two LBs; just have to hope Rojas stays healthy and someone can provide some depth.
After your poll earlier today I was afraid to open this given the subject line. And as a bonus, tell us which unit has to have the best year for PSU to win it all.

You are leaving out Hero Zero, Dom DeLuca. He is a playerYes, Rojas & Campbell can't get worn down that is why coach Knowles needs two more of the young LBers to improve tobthe point of being dependable in this scheme. Looking at you, Speca & Wiley.
It was not intentional. Tony, Amare, and Dom are the three "reliables" Knowles has mentioned. Sounds like they want those three to be able to play both LBer positions. You are leaving out Hero Zero, Dom DeLuca. He is a player
Deluca is probably, IMO, the top LB on the team.Yes, Rojas & Campbell can't get worn down that is why coach Knowles needs two more of the young LBers to improve tobthe point of being dependable in this scheme. Looking at you, Speca & Wiley.

Whew. I had been losing a little sleep over this. The mellophone section of the Blue Band is going to be a strength this year.
I may be a little biased.Whew. I had been losing a little sleep over this.
Interesting take. He is probably the most cerebral LBer (i.e. understanding assignments) but not as athletic/rangy as the other two yet makes up for that by understaning/diagnosing plays to get him in place. His perseverance going from walk-on to key contributor is very admirable. I wonder if "walk-ons" will completely fade in this new era of 105 scholarships allowed?Deluca is probably, IMO, the top LB on the team.
Time will tell wrt Campbell.
Depth? A lot of "yet to be determined" there.
Good ratings but I rate CBs higher. Top end talent/depth.OL is clearly the strongest position. No Orlando Pace in the group but remarkable depth.
The unit that has to have the best year in order for PSU to win is a tie between QB and DT.
- Elite players put the team on their back during big games and Allar has yet to do that. Hopefully this year.
- DT is really thin. Ford needs to stay healthy and we need 2 more to step up.
I think our offensive positions all rank as high or higher than our defensive positions:
OL: A due to great depth
RB: A two proven players
QB: A- Allar has to prove himself in big games
TE: B+ Dinkins is solid, Reynolds has high potential, Rappleyea
WR: B+ One or two of these guys has to be good
LB: B+ Campbell was critical addition. Need Wylie or Speca to provide depth
DE: B DDS & Fisher s/b OK but little depth
CB: B Harris is great. Washington s/b good but we need Collins & Tracy to step up.
DT: B Durant and Ford if healthy but no proven depth. White?
S: B- Wheatley is good at one spot but Lane has legal issues and Mack is unproven.
The thing is we need 5 DBs to play at a time.Good ratings but I rate CBs higher. Top end talent/depth.
I believe it's two safties and three CBs (one being he Nickel). The thing is we need 5 DBs to play at a time.
