Possibly #1 heading into the season.Great early season test for this team. Purdue is going to be pretty good and most likely a top 5
Team to start the year.

Nah this will be a good early test for him going against one of the best PG in the nation.Feel bad for Lowe having to face Smith his first game at Rupp.
Raised him wrong if only 97% sure... Just kidding kindaMy son is a freshman there right now. Would love to take him to that game. I'm 97% sure he would still cheer on the Cats.
He is NOT a big sports fan (I do not know what I did wrong). He did enjoy the one UK game that he went to, but he'd rather spend his time learning about things that my mind can hardly grasp than sit down and watch a game (and that is even true here in KC during this Chiefs' championship run).Raised him wrong if only 97% sure... Word on the street is that Mayer will start over Cox. Mayer is a transfer from Israel's pro league and is rated as the 46th ranked freshman. He averaged 18 points in his last season in the Israeli league. It will be a tough matchup early on. Most of those guys have been playing together for a while.
Smith, Kaufman-Renn, and Loyer are all double digit scorers.
They add Murphy from the portal who was double digit scorer last season.
Jacobsen and Cluff will provide an early challenge for our bigs.
PG Lowe << Smith
SG Oweh > Cox
SF Aberdeen < Loyer
PF Dioubate << Kaufman-Renn
C Garrison > Jacobsen
I highly doubt we see Quaintance that early.

You can bet ESPN/Disney will put it on some subscription package channel just so we all get sucked in and sign up for one month and cancel like we always do for early season gamesA game time and television designation will be announced at a later date. Love what Pope is doing.
There are ways around that if you're interested and know how to use a vpn. You can watch pretty much any sporting event in the world for free. You can bet ESPN/Disney will put it on some subscription package channel just so we all get sucked in and sign up for one month and cancel like we always do for early season games

That’s going to be a battle to watch this season at Purdue.Word on the street is that Mayer will start over Cox. Mayer is a transfer from Israel's pro league and is rated as the 46th ranked freshman. He averaged 18 points in his last season in the Israeli league.
I think Hall got a pretty decent guard to transfer from Purdue.UK leads all time series 6-2 - surprising we haven't played more
Pitino beat them badly back to back 1996-1997
Tubby never played them
And Joe Hall & Rupp went 2-1
1984 our last loss to them
UK Purdue Series
You guys will be ok. Coach Painter doesn't try to win the exhibitions. Well, kind of. He uses the exhibition games to tinker with lineups and test defenses. I'm sure he wants to win but he doesn't emphasize that.Just looking at this game on paper that early, I am glad it is an exhibition.
Their trio of Smith, Loyer, and Kaufman-Renn, we really don’t have a counter for at this time.
We meet them in March with a healthy Quaintance and no major injuries, and we will have a shot, but in October, as the guys get acclimated to one another, it could be tough sledding.
Yeah that Ark team also beat Duke. You guys will be ok. Coach Painter doesn't try to win the exhibitions. Well, kind of. He uses the exhibition games to tinker with lineups and test defenses. I'm sure he wants to win but he doesn't emphasize that.
In Edey's senior year we played Arkansas (I think they were ranked #14) at Arkansas in an exhibition charity game. Painter spent the entire game tweaking lineups and defenses and was quoted as saying he never looked at the scoreboard. Edey only played 24 minutes (he averaged like 32 a game for the season).
Purdue fans were confused by the lineups because they were CRAZY. Of course Arkansas fans were ecstatic and went out in the world beating their chests about the victory and touting their upcoming season. Then the gay love triangle thing came to light and Arkansas' season went down the tubes.
I agree. Wait for the I’m concerned threads. We are going to be playing the best of the best this next season too. This is how it should be we aren’t afraid to play anyone!!!! Love what Pope is doing!!!
