Comment away. I know nothing

Hoover, Alabama Qb! Big time production this season, especially leading Hoover over #1 Thompson last week. HS coach gushes about leadership and intangibles he offers. Good pickup. Offer list not impressive, but video is very good.

Solid commitment image.

As we know, the portal can change things very, very quickly, but he’ll have a chance to compete for the job as a redshirt freshman.

The thing about powerhouse players is that a) they almost certainly have structural advantages that make great film and highlights easier to obtain , but b) that coaching also makes them much more likely to step in early.

I’m thinking specifically of the Katy connection, which was a real nice boon to the program.

(Note that he only joined Hoover for his senior season, which perhaps kept him off the radar a bit.)

This is NU’s third straight class without a player from GA (I think), but inroads to AL, MS, NC, AR are all good things.

I like the big frame, very good feet, touch on vertical routes and overall resume

The arm strength looks average with a slower release. Both can be improved with mechanics. He is going to have a faster release and more zip to get into tighter, shorter windows in P5. You can say that about pretty much every high school QB.

I don't mind the recruiting profile. Marty was barely recruited, and he'd be pretty good if he could stay healthy.

As long as he can throw off his back foot, he'll have a chance to compete.

Hoover sucks.
So does Eureka. And Dyson, and Oreck.

You never know he may have a favorite receiver in the next class.

YOU Guys got a very good QB in this Hoover kid. Thompson was #4 NATIONALLY in HS football and Hoover #2 in Al biggest Class beat Thompson and this kid was the main reason for it. Thompson has 5 TOP D1 kids in the State of AL- some great athletes 2 of which are going to BAMA and 2 more next year likely. Gets some wr and TE and you got some scoring punch coming Fans..

So why didn't Bama or Auburn offer him? Or anyone else in the SEC or Power 5?

Just curious as to what you think happened.

It is curious but I suspect that other factors are in play, i.e "star power". only senior year seen with other players as priorities, not fitting profiles they want, etc.). Even the big boys miss, i.e Burrows, Fields. Only time will tell.

I think upper echelon programs, including most of the Power 5, want QBs that participate in running the ball. No way he wasn't a well known quantity prior to and at Hoover. Good skills, bad timing. NU wanted the same but was still without a dance partner.
