Where are the QBs behind Baker? That seems to be the program weakness and Mayfield was a walk on transfer.

Mayfield is limping each game versus Big 12 defenses, how long will that last vs Bama, MSU or Clemson level defenses? Celebrate another Big 12 title and a place in the final 4, but don't be delusional.
OU has QB Austin Kendall from North Carolina in 2016 and QB Chris Roberson from Mesquite Texas in 2017. Is there one from Utah coming too ???Our past QB development is currently residing in Utah.
Riley is playing the hand he was dealt. He has a commitment from one of the top QB's in the country.
What else can you do in less than one year, besides replacing the weak link and working to get better.
Were Lincoln and Bob supposed to go raid Miss St, Ohio St, Notre Dame, FSU, etc and just take the QBs they wanted?
You asked the question. What would your solution be?
What a stupid post.

Misread, my bad....but Heupel is OU's past QB "developer"."Our past QB development, aka Josh Heupel, resides in Utah."
This goes through my mind every time I see Baker take hits when he is scrambling to make a play. OU dodged a huge bullet against TCU that his concussion wasn't worse. Baker is just one bad hit away from being on the sidelines. And you're right CT, the gap between Mayfield and the backups is pretty enormous. OU better hope Baker's luck runs the two more games it will take to bring home a natty!!Mayfield is the savior of this year's team, but it is a concern as to what Knight or Thomas would do if Mayfield gets hurt. Nothing Knight or Thomas did this year offers any comfort level as far as QB depth is concerned....especially in light of Mayfield's style of play. The gap between Mayfield's talent level and that of his backups seems very wide.
I also pucker when I see BM take hits. Point is, nothing Riley could have done to change their current position. He has his guys coming in, but had to play the hand the Josh left him this year.Misread, my bad....but Heupel is OU's past QB "developer".
