Give it time brotha, it just happened. Hopefully Gebbia or Coan commit soon so we can have some main peaces in place.

Ramblings that Holmes may push his decision until later in the year. He is the one I would get the most excited about out of known interested recruits (thus far)
For many years universities have used the concept of "magnet students" to build up various programs including academic programs. Holmes may well be the best player but I have a hunch KJJ will be a huge magnet, assuming he has even 10% of his daddy's personality.

I accidentally had Nick Bahe's show on today and he seriously sounded pissed that NU was getting all of this 4 star talent at WR and QB because they will pass the ball.

I've been waiting for someone to bring that up.

Just adding some perspective...your current receiver haul would have been 4th or 5th in the B10 East last year:

1) MSU landed four 4* WRs including the top B10 WR recruit in Corley

2) tOSU landed two Rivals 100 WRs and three 4* TEs

3) Michigan landed three 4* WRs (including two 5.9 4*s...both your guys are 5.8) and two 4* TEs

4) Maryland landed a 5.9 4* and whether you would have been 4th or 5th depends on if a 4* athlete they landed ends up at slot

Nationally (your current haul) would probably have been closer to the 20th best class (receiver) than being top 10...NU and fans have every reason to be excited about how things are going...just thought I add the big picture of this.

Great point. I'm sure your perspective will be considerably more relevant when signing day approaches. I could be wrong but I suspect we might not be finished with this recruiting class.

And if you guys fill out your class with some higher rated receivers I will be happy for you....I like it when great tradition programs are...well great

I listened for about 20 or 30 minutes before I changed stations and he bitched about it the whole time. He sounded pissed that KJJ committed.
He leans toward blotard. Oh well. Same as Stevens here in Lincoln. Guy was complaining within the first 2 minutes of the Wednesday show. He defended Blo endlessly, it's sad to see what some of our "fans" have become.

Let's see how they play out on the field. You stats are great until put into action. Hell our players may not pan out...

The board jubilation the past 2 months has been overblown in my opinion. It's the same sort of delusion we saw last summer when many of you were predicting a 10, 11, or 12 win season.

Lot's of people going full retard for a potentially above average wideout who is possibly more outspoken than Kenny Bell.

Let's call it irrational exuberance.

Nick wants to see Nebraska return to an Identity based/run game. That isn't going to happen with this staff.

We've replaced the IB's with WR's.

Can anyone name any of the running back prospects off the top of their head for '17?

I'm guessing that in a few years, the team will have been completely changed to fit a passing identity and the coach will be gone, and Nebraska faithful will demand a running game like they always do...

I only see an upside in regards to being excited about what's happening before our very eyes, I see no upside or reason to pee in my Cheerios or anyone else's who's giddy about what is happening right now in regards to NU football.

If this was some 4* receiver from Hackensack, NJ, people would be excited about another potentially damn good receiver. KJJ, however, has the potential to be a major lynchpin for this recruiting class. Heck, maybe he could even help garner the attention of a running back or two.

Thanks for the big picture. I'm sure most of us are aware that, for the foreseeable future, we aren't going to be recruiting at a higher level than Ohio State and Michigan. Now that we've hopefully put that fear of yours to bed, here's some perspective for you. As of right now, Nebraska Football has achieved some very important momentum in recruiting. This is following a 6-7 regular season that saw some awful disappointments. That's a reason to get excited. We're fans.

Equally important to me is that none of your list of teams resides in the Big Ten West, where Nebraska resides. In our program's current state, the first attainable goal is to win our division and make it to the B1G Championship game. If you've ever watched a conference championship game, you'll understand why this is critical to returning Nebraska to relevance.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, we all understand that Nebraska won't return to the elite overnight. To me, your "information" isn't "sobering" at all. In fact, the reality is that in order for Nebraska to return to the elite, it will be aided by doing so amongst the toughest of competition. So, thanks for posting this attempt to bring us all back to reality. Regrettably for some, the reality is that Nebraska Football is taking positive steps on the way back to national relevance.

I don't know about you, but I really appreciate it when an opposing fan comes to our board to help us out like that. Restores my faith in humanity to see people reach out like that and do us a favor like he did.

Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and USC would beg to differ with your insipid analysis of our latest recruit.

Good discussion recently from Benning, he pointed out that while KJJ doesn't make your eyes pop out from a raw athleticism standpoint, he is going to be a WR who plays with polish and sound fundamentals. Said it reminds you of Westerkamp in that sense. Westy isn't the tallest or the fastest, he just plain gets open and makes catches.

KJJ's highlights aren't full of breakaway TDs, but there are a bunch of big boy catches in there that you wouldn't expect from a HS-Jr. Would be nice if he can keep growing another inch or two and be a solid possession WR on the outside.

My post was in reference to the OP. You might notice I chose to put it here and not in the various threads about your new commit...in fact I congratulated you guys in the "boom" thread.

There is nothing negative about landing a 4* of any caliber. Yes, it is a time of celebration. However, unless the OP was implying that WR talent was a deterrent to landing QBs it reads as if getting two 4* WRs will all of a sudden make NU a destination for any "fricken" top QB. I guess I could have answered his question (which isn't rhetorical as he might or might not have intended) by saying "well the 9 out of the top 10 pro-style QBs who committed elsewhere including one that just visited you and chose Wisky instead." But instead of being a smart butt I decided to lay out the facts as a national recruit might see it.

So again, congrats on the pickup...there is nothing bad about it and I hope you guys keep the momentum going and do get your top QB in Gebbia.

It's hard to believe, but Keyshawn Jr most likely didn't even have a committable offer from the Buckeyes. They are leading for two much higher rated receivers in Trevon Grimes and Tyjon Lindsay, and are also going hard after Donovan Peoples-Jones, all 3 are in the top 25 overall, while KJ Jr isn't in the top 200. They also lead for Ohio WR Jaylen Harris who is also ranked much higher than Key Jr. The Buckeyes are probably going to sign their highest rated class in the history of their program considering they also lead for several other 5 stars, they are recruiting at an absolutely insane level for 2017. This isn't to try to disparage Key Jr., he's a great prospect who I would imagine almost any other school would take on the spot, just relaying the info. As far as Darnay Holmes goes, the Buckeyes want him badly and he's as high as almost anyone on their board, they say he produced one of the best CB performances they had ever had in camp. I highly doubt they get him though due to distance and who they already have committed and are chasing hard.

If you are an incredible athlete with the potential to play WR-RB-LB-Safety RB would be the least desirable. All these young kids think thhe are going to be an NFL player regardless of the long odds. You are giving up millions upon millions of dollars being a top RB vs a top WR-safety or LB entering the NFL. The best players aren't playing RB anymore.

I will counter with Shane Morris ... The #1 QB recruit in all the land. Recruiting rankings are quite subjective. He may end up a 2* or a 6*. Ecstatic to have KJJ
