Protocol calls for Sellers to be out this week. So who do we start? Doty, guy with a ton of experience, or one of the new guys. Who has taken the most snaps in practice? I say roll out one of the new guys or at least give them playing time. We have little chance without Sellers so get guys some experience. A great game plan may give us a chance this week, but doubtful. Get some guys experience then hopefully La’Norris is back next week.

Didn't we have a backup quarterback start against Mizz and essentially win us the game, then never saw the field again?

He probably did see the field again, but that wouldn't fit my narrative.

Should be a qb competition this week for starter. Doty, Noland, Woods

Better is, they pick the right guy and he gets most of the reps with the first team, but you could be right, we may not be in that position to have a clear # 2 after what the coaches saw in the Vandy game.

Pedestrian OB play in a pedestrian offense is basically giving up.
Why recruit the QB talent and not use it?
You never know what you have until you give it the opportunity to show itself.

We have to provide the injury update today to the SEC. Maybe we can glean something from that. Or not.

Yes. Scarnecchia. Saved out butts in the pouring rain. Then we went right back to Bentley.
Went back to Bentley because Scarnecchia didn’t ’save our butts’, his essential contribution was to a tight end that Missouri didn’t cover late in the game. Missouri imploded all over themselves in that game, it was amazing.

Bentley was no great shakes but he was head and shoulders better than Scar, as was demonstrated later when Scar would get put in. Fans memories are romanticized in that regard because Bentley didn’t carry us to the promised land and he was colored by the fans because of it, much like Garcia.

Personally I'd rather us roll Cutter or Air out there (whichever one shows that he's more ready this week in practice). Mizzou will have no (college) film on either. Have Doty on standby if things go south, like when Shaw started at East Carolina, and Garcia came in to save the day......

Bentley was head and shoulders above everyone his freshman year, and then he was erratic the rest of his tenure. He was erratic enough that it never made sense, not to even give anyone else a shot, and even more so after that game. You're recalling one big play at the end. Scar was part of an effort that day in which the offense needed every bit of the points it put up (along with that insande defensive TD). He threw for 3 TDs, I'll even concede he was fortunate not to be picked off a couple of times, but he did more than make one play. And maybe Bentley was truly better, but we don't actually know because we never saw enough of Scar after that, as he only appeared in one more game.

Air is not the qb his recruiting rankings listed him as if he can't beat out Doty.

Maybe thats why we were able to get him away from OSU.

When did Scanecchia ever get put in after the Missouri win?, besides some mop up time against Chattanooga? What are you referencing exactly?

Scar never played in the 0-28 loss in the bowl game, I'm pretty sure Jake Bentley went the whole way

If the OL cannot protect better than it has, and Shula stays status quo, you better either play somebody that can move or somebody that’s expendable. And I don’t mean that to be funny.

There is no telling how good Sellers could be with a good play caller.

This is true. Doty's mobility may be why we put him out there.

This could be one of those situations where the staff has decided to play Poker this week with Missouri..

I’m the same BeamerBall from last year bay rooster. I based my opinion on the standard concussion protocol which I looked up. I hope La’Norris is ready to go, but don’t want him to put his career in jeopardy. I was just speculating on what our plan should be if he isn’t ready to go. Is that not a valid question?

I agree with those of you who said give the new guys some snaps. I saw Woods play several times when he was in high school. He has good mobility and can fling it. I don’t know much about Noland other than his star rating. I love Doty, but is he our best option?

If not Sellers than Doty is the only one who will give yall a fighting chance. I don’t think throwing a guy who’s never seen the field into a hostile night environment on the road is gonna work out well.
