Quade Green transferring from UK?

Green was the epitome of that kid who doesn't ever realize his limitations and either improve or adjust. He was not a great athlete, nor was he a good shooter. But he wanted to play like James Harden and be a gunner. There is no place at a top tier hoops program for a kid like that.

Maybe he should transfer to unc where he can play right away. If he hurry's up he could be in uniform and ready to play against UK. Don't think it can't happen? hof coach roy williams has a knack for getting transfers without sitting. (Cam Johnson). OFC

Sky — I think Q is a good player. Would not want him in a UNC uni. That’s just me.

He probably will not get a lot of pt time until he's a junior or senior. There's some guys there right now that will have seniority over him including white, black, little, platek, robinson, huffman, Manley and brooks and I know I've left some one out. By the time he earns his own seniority he just might get pissed off enough to declare for the draft. OFC

He just wasn’t a good enough athlete to be at a blue blood type program. His shot wasn’t consistent enough and he made bad passes that got picked off every game. Hate to see him leave but I think he made a good choice and I wish him nothing but the best.

He only played like 17 minutes total the last two games. He's a good shooter but not good on defense. Wasn't he wanting to transfer at the end of last year and then Cal talked him into staying?

It'll be interesting to see what happens with their program the next few years. It seems like, ever since the 38-1 season (ya know, when Duke won the title), things have turned stale over there. Since then, their biggest achievements have been getting to be first in line for getting the recruits that didn't want to come to Duke. Cal isn't a great X's and O's coach; I think everyone knows that (though he probably isn't quite as bad as some make him out to be either), but were willing to put up with the shortcomings on the coaching front in exchange for what they gain on the recruiting front. But Cal has lost that edge - so is it worth keeping him around?

Something needs to change for them, but I'm not sure exactly what it is. Cal isn't a Brad Stevens - someone who can take a team with mediocre individual talent and make them very good contenders. His prior recruiting and his handling of the media/the effect his charisma has on BBN has worked really well for him up to this point, but with losing the recruiting battles paired with head-scratching coaching decisions like in their loss to Seton Hall by not calling a timeout for a young team in panic mode and players now transferring... it won't be long before they're wanting him out.

I'm not going to put down UK over this whole thing. Transfers happen. Duke fans, of all people, should know that.

While it's easy to pile on UK right now, I'll refrain from that, as well. I still think they're capable of being a very good team come March. Again, Duke fans know firsthand that melding young talent together right off the bat isn't easy. We saw our own team make some pretty drastic improvements throughout the year last season....we also found out when the season ended that everything might not have been as rosy behind-the-scenes as it appeared. Even still, we were a roll-out away from getting back to the Final Four.

The next few weeks are going to be pretty big for UK.

We broke them in the Champions Classic.

Green leaving was a forgone conclusion as soon as Hagans reclassified and committed to UK. Have three 5* PGs that are all Freshman and Sophomore is like having no starting PG. Not enough playing time for any of them to really improve, and thus none of the three have played to their potential.

And yet everyone was saying that there weren’t going to be enough basketballs to go around for all the elite players that we have this season. Yet we’re 1st in total assists and 13th in assists per game. We also have 8 players averaging double digit minutes and a 9th player that’s averaging just shy of double digit minutes. It looks like a lot of the things that some fans were saying about Duke are actually happening to Kentucky this season. Also our 3 stars that everyone said wouldn’t be able to play together because they’d all want the ball in their hands are averaging 14+ ppg.

I read that this is their sixth transfer in the last 3 years. That’s a bit more than usual for UK.

I'm as big of a "step on their throats while they are down" person as anyone. We completely embaressd UK, it will take years (or a national title, which they aren't getting) for them to get over 118-84. However....I think this transfer ultimately will help them. Apparently Quade wasn't happy with the minutes he was getting, he was essentialy the 4th guard in pecking order. Plus, and it really drives me crazy, Cal's team do always play better basketball in March.

Of course I love whenever UK loses, but since we did crush them, the better UK's resume' is, that will make ours that much stronger. Hopefully it doesn't come down to this, but there's a small chance were fighting for the final 1-seed and may need that UK win to look as strong as possible.

I love it when UK loses but when they lose to unc it just rips my gut out. Of course I feel the same way when the CHEATERS from unc beat anyone. I just get sick to my stomach for the dirtiest program beats anyone because I'm thinking how dirty they are. OFC

UK fans are special. I can't believe their fanbase tolerates a large portion of them saying they are "growing tired of Cal." I got news for you, if you run Cal out of town, what kind of coach wants to step and deal with that kind of irrational nonsense?

I mean Cal has his weaknesses, but who are they going to get to come in there and do better? Cal has kept that train going for a while now.

There are some KY fans that believe they could get Popovich as HC and Coach K, Donovan, and Brad Stevens as assistants. Belichick and Nick Saban would be special assistants.

Can we start a petition to get Pitino back to UK? BBN would burn that state to the ground.

Guys — we’ve had plenty of transfers. For QG, the fit is not there. Hope he can find his groove somewhere.

I was very happy for Semi and the career he had at SMU.
Green was just not good fit and behind several guys. I wish him the best of luck, it was a good move for both parties

You saying we couldn't?

I believe UK gets who they want. If they wanted they would be playing or coaching them and that includes greats as Lew Alcindor, Michael Jordan, Lebron James, Kobe Bryant , Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell , Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Shaquel O'Neal , Oscar Robertson any player that ever played at Duke, Coach K, dean smith and all the great ones. If UK had wanted them then they would have been at UK. UK didn't want any of them including Zion Williamson. That's why no of the above mentioned never was at UK. Because UK didn't want them. You are right in what you have to say. JC Cats. I think I've met you or your wife in person before Have you ever lived in N.C. If so go the thread about opposing fans interactions and read my post. Is that you guys I'm talking about. OFC
