I hope so... but it doesn't "feel" like he's hitting the court this weekend. Guess we'll see.
Only that it seems like it might be more widely discussed or leaked to the press whenever he is likely to play. I’m not sure it will just be a surprise to everyone when Pope points to him and send him into a game. I have not heard any chatter of anyone “expecting” him to play this Saturday. But I could be wrong. I haven’t followed that closely.
Per Joe Adam's JQ is very likely to play in the next month.
Couple minutes against St John’s and then some real run against Bellarmine.
By March, I’m sure. By the time we’re already locked out of a tournament. The CBI better look out for the monster that is JQ!
He much more polished as a defender, where he can be ELITE.
Yeah I don’t think we are expecting NBA offense from him, but his physical and defensive presence will be the biggest impacts. He will help on offense some too from some rim running and another offensive rebounding put backs.
Huh? He’s a non-shooter who had only a single digit scoring average at ASU. So where are you supposedly seeing this “NBA offensive ability“?
He’s considered such a hot prospect because of what he brings on the defensive end, not offense.
From his elite athleticism. As a finisher.
I overstated…he won’t be an elite nba scorer or here. But he has the athleticism to be a finisher and offensive rebounder. He has more potential to help us win than anyone else on the roster.
UL exposed us as under talented and unable to make baskets. I think he has potential to change that. And I don’t see anyone else that does.
Maybe that’s desperation by me. Let’s hope not.
He will help the offense because he will help the spacing within the offense and get our shooters better looks. I will all but guarantee our 3pt% will be 5-7% higher once he is in the lineup. He will be a double double machine if he gets 20+ MPG. 12 and 8 type averages is my guess.
Defensively he will help in ways the average fan can’t comprehend. Having a rim protector changes how other teams are able to play offensively and having his presence alone on defense will make a huge difference. This is a big return for us and makes us a much better team. Had he been healthy from day one even with MoD and Lowe’s injuries we’d easily be 9-2 or possibly better instead of 7-4. Mod, Lowe and JQ are the most important three players for us for various reasons but the doom and gloom crew doesn’t understand that. Had all three been healthy we’d be ranked top 10 still and right on track. Let’s hope we can stay healthy moving forward.
I think a healthy JQ can elevate overall team performance, much like Mo D did in the second half of the Indiana game.
Who even cares, we can't recruit because our criminal AD has locked us into a awful deal. With a amateur hour NIL group. We literally cannot recruit elite players, they won't sign with the AWFUL JMI deal. We're looking at 15 losses this season. Recruiting is dead, we'll have to hit the portal and get scraps, who won't mind signing their rights away, to JMI. Who won't get us to a final four. Does anyone actually care? We have to get out of this deal. Or UK basketball is dead. What coach is coming here with this crap deal in place? Pope isn't a great coach. But I'd like to see what he could do with an elite 5 star like Stokes or Collins. Looks like we will never see that.
