Hope this doesn’t play out like it did with another player. JV would have really helped us out that year. (I’m not mentioning the other guy)

Ohh, yea. They only do that for Cal.

Michael Jordan Lol GIF

what other players have committed to a team and sat down for no reason and the coach allowed it and they lied, didn’t play, and went pro?

What does Mark have in his past that suggest he would ever recruit a player that would intentionally sit out and not play when medically cleared.

Waiting on both. Maybe you can show some data of some kind instead of gifs.

James Wiseman ring a bell? He eventually left Memphis, but did basically the same thing.
And there have been others. It's not some new phenomenon. Sharpe stayed because they started getting NIL now.

There were rumors last year that Robinson was doing the same last year late in the season. Any proof he wasn't?

What proof was there of any coach doing it until they did it? Again, if it was what Robinson did last year, there would be your proof. And if it's what happens with JQ this year, then that's further proof.

Maybe you can show the dats for where it's never happened other than Cal and Sharpe?

All you're going to get is circular logic, gifs and emojis

I don’t think the issue is if Pope will play him or not, I think the issue is just going to be him getting healthy. Most things (based off JQ’s surgery date) suggest being cleared for full live action Feb-Marchish. If he’s ready to go by the beginning of February, that is a win.

I am against the idea of him playing early

And played bad and may get hurt again because of lingering injury

I think January debut is reasonable

Bet you are wrong.
I would be willing to bet we won’t see him cleared prior to 9 months. That’s the timeline for no reinjury. Pope will not ignore that data and neither will JQs camp. They would both be stupid to. 9 months post surgery is second week in December. He won’t be on the court before then. If he is they are ignoring medical data that says not to do it. His risk for injury goes up.
Start of SEC play.

I don’t know. He’s 8th on CBS Mock Draft Board. Let’s see where he is in mid December.
I think he wants to play games

Wilson, Peats are all playing good, same with other freshmen

JQ wanted to play to keep his stock

Otherwise if there are any other guys playing good, JQ's draft prospect will become worse to him every passing day

Agreed. I’m convinced Koa Peat has every tool (my favorite to be #1). Same thing for Boozer. Peterson is also a special athlete. Dybantsa has a versatility that you don’t find often at his height and build, with elite agility. Tounde Yessoufou is also a promising stud. This is not the year for JQ to sit out, as he could very well fall out of the top 10.

Really at a loss as to why anyone is questioning this kids intent to play. If he were my son and medically cleared, heck yes, but there is no way in Hell I would let him play hurt. If he is healthy and tanks the season, ill be right there complaining too, but not until he has actually done something wrong

I’ve said from the moment he committed that he wouldn’t play. Not because I think he don’t want to. Not because of any kind of shady stuff. Not holding out for the draft. But because he had a messed up acl and who is gonna rush back when they have millions waiting on them. I dont blame him if he don’t play.

with that said I think he will be cleared just in time for the combine.

I very rarely watch NBA games, but I tuned in last night to watch the Spurs vs Lakers and ole Jared Vanderbilt was playing big minutes. He looked solid.
But yeah, he would have been huge for us.
But then again, that 17/18 team was loaded with NBA talent, shouldn't have needed Vanderbilt if I'm being honest.

I would be ecstatic if he started playing by mid December. Yes please.
