I understand that he had a heart attack not too long ago but I admire him getting back on tv with the ACC network.

He sure seems like a good guy and loves watching this Louisville team play. My question, is he officially retired from coaching now? I just hope he is ok.

You are right about the heart attack but apparently, and fortunately, it wasn’t serious enough to force him into an early retirement. He is/was an outstanding coach. His knowledge of CFB is obvious during these games.

I think he needed a break. Georgia was a tough job and those last few years had a lot of pressure. He left and then took another job that had a lot of pressure.

He wasn’t ready to come back. I mean honestly, I believe Urban Meyer truly did have those heart issues at Florida and just needed a year of rest.

Beingthe CEO of a team of 60+ scholarship players and an entire staff of coaches has to be mighty stressful. Having to get them signed, develop their skills, prepare them for games, make sure they behave, make sure they make grades, makes sure the staff responsibilities are delegated properly, etc.

Georgia is a tough gig. Richt AVERAGED 9 wins a year....and they wanted him gone.
That first year he was at Miami he seemed to be having more fun than I had seen him have in years.
From all Ive read, he is five times as great a human being as he is a coach.....
which means he's top of the line.

the times i've seen his comments definitely had good coaches insight that made me look again at what was going on.

i went to georgia tech for two years and the old joke was you only needed to roll down your window to get a degree from UGA.

but cannot fault the town too much as Widespread Panic. REM, B-52's, Black Crows, Drive by Truckers just to name a few all started in Athens. used love this old store there call the Junkman's Brother's Daughter back in '87 and it's still around
