Is anyone else having an issue with having to reload the apps?
It's been happening to me a lot, I have to reload some of them at least twice a week. I have the Streaming Stick 4k.
Wifi is fine and has a very strong signal.
Thanks.

I don’t use Roku but it sounds like a software incompatibility issue. Probably not your WiFi.

I’m guessing Roku pushed out a version update that the apps don’t like/recognize.

If possible, reload the older version of the Roku OS and see if the apps are more stable.

Have you tried unplugging it from power for a good 15 seconds and plugging it back in?

Yes, that’s the standard “turn it off and back on” IT Support answer, but easy and worth a try if you’ve not done so yet.

both that and the typical restart. 🤷‍♂️
It might just be time for a new device.

My guess is that you have too many apps installed. There’s only so much core memory. You want to look at that. If you need all of the apps, you can buy and SD card to store them and you won’t have to reload all the time.

No, thats not it. I have less than 10. I've had those 10 apps installed since I got it (5 years ago). It just recently developed this issue.

If you are going to spring for a new device, you may want to consider the 4K Ultra, as it supposedly provides better performance than the stick.

I have never owned a Roku stick so I can’t comment on the comparison, but I have two of the Ultras and have always found the performance to be pretty snappy. I don’t recall ever having to restart apps on them.

Thanks. I've loaded the apps back up for the 4th time. So far they are still there but I think the Ultra is the next step.
