Could you imagine getting a Citrus bowl berth after being conference runner up in football on the same day that hoops pounded a top 5 opponent? Feels like a bit of a banner day that would’ve been almost unfathomable to generations of NU fans.

I’m a Dark Ages guy. You captured my very thought from the moment the buzzer sounded at WR tonight.

Very sweet. Thanks to all who had a hand in making the good times roll.

Well, our last W over a top 5 opponent in MBB was over the MSU team that had Magic Johnson and went on to win the NCAA in 1979, so that part's not completely far-fetched. (That was the winter before I came to NU, but the W got national attention.)

I remember a 3OT win over Michigan on TV as well, a win over Bobby Knight's IU team my junior year, and senior year -- I was on co-op and missed most of it -- we went to the NIT and won our first-round game against TSISB on St. Patrick's day, believe it or not.

The football part would have been beyond belief. Just winning more than one game in a year was thought impossible until we won 3 my senior year.
