While various SEC teams have achieved individual 17-point comebacks,
no SEC men's basketball team had ever recorded 17-point comebacks in back-to-back road games until Kentucky achieved the feat in January 2026.
Kentucky's historic January 2026 run included:
- January 14, 2026 (at LSU): The Wildcats trailed by as many as 18 points in the second half before rallying for a 76-75 victory, sealed by a Malachi Moreno buzzer-beater.
- January 17, 2026 (at #24 Tennessee): Just three days later, Kentucky trailed by 17 points (41-24) in the first half but stormed back to win 80-78 in Knoxville.
While larger single-game comebacks exist in SEC history—such as Texas A&M's 27-point comeback against Ole Miss in 2025—Kentucky's feat is distinguished by occurring in consecutive games, both on the road.
