Question on recruiting

If Riley had a QB for the last 2 years more in line to his offensive mindset, would it make recruiting WR's any easier? TA was a square peg in this offense and would not accept coaching to improve his passing which in return he could not showcase any WR talents. No WR on this team really got a sniff from any postseason accolades because TA could not consistently complete passes to open receivers. (Not a TA slam fest thread)

Yes. When your team can't throw for 2 years, WRs tend to look elsewhere. It's a miracle we are in on the caliber of wideouts that we are.

Now if only we could have similar success on the o-line and especially the d-line.

Look at tOSU, they have one wide receiver commit, in part because they struggle to throw the ball as well, even thought they have been one of the best teams since Urban took over.

OSU I believe is taking a small WR class anyway (similar to our DB class). They probably take 2.

Don't really know how productive he'd be since he's only coached receivers his whole career?

Sorry my sarcasm font wasn't showing very well lol... they're pretty happy with offensive lineman they've got already, know they're looking for someone on the defensive line, but the big uglies don't get as much attention!!

YES, I'd much rather be in on the top OL/DL recruits than all these damn receivers.

Nothing is wrong with that sentiment, but we're getting pretty good linemen in this class, we've recruited some good ones (especially on O-line) the last year or two, and the success that these elite WR's are going to garner us will trickle down to all positions.
