What UofL loss in any sport left you most dejected?

1) losing to UK in 2014 tourney. That was a painful drive back from Indy

2) football loss to Rutgers after William Gay jumped offsides on field goal attempt

On the other hand, we might have been able to go on to the NC in 2014, but it, too, would have been taken away from us.

Losing at Clemson when Quick ran out of bounds short of the 1st down marker.

I was at that game and while I was supremely disappointed that we lost, I left the game feeling like we still had a shot at the playoffs. So I wasn’t dejected because it didn’t seem like a nail in the coffin on the season.

I think we had the team to cut down the nets. But yes, it would’ve been wiped away by the NCAAssholes

After only thinking about this a few minutes, I'm going to go with either of our Championship game losses to UCONN in the Women's Championship.

For me, it was that UVA game at the Yum where they scored 5 points in the last two seconds. it was just brutal. Walked out of there simply stunned and confused.
All good responses so far. Add to this one the complete collapse against Duke two years ago. A relatively meaningless in season game but, man choking like that was brutal to watch.

Easy for me - UCLA loss in the 1975 NCAA SEMI-FINALS. We had them on the ropes. The loss was crushing. I was 26 and flew to San Diego with my father and two of his friends. Next up and for the Championship was a UK team that Bridgeman, Murphy, Cox & Bond would have run circles around.

For football, it was the loss to Rutgers in 2006. We had a chance to win it all that season. Probably the angriest I have ever been at the end of a game.

Not sure why I forgot about this game. All good posts but Terry Howard missing the FT is my hands down winner!

Was only 13 then, and at the time I hated all things California (Oakland As beating the Reds in 72). That was the first Louisville team I remember following.

2014 hurts because we haven’t been the same since. We had a lucky draw and got the the elite 8 in 2015, but it’s never felt the same.

Now, I believe the 2014 was a bit overrated from what we all thought, but that team had a swagger and had we beaten sUcKs that night, I think we would’ve buried them and took over bragging rights for good and it would’ve killed them

Michigan in 2016 hurt. The way that game went down and what happened afterward was just an ugly way to go down.

The 2014 UK game sucked but I never trusted a Russ Smith PG led team to win anyhow.

Most dejected? Getting pistol whipped by UK football in 2019. Really put a damper on an otherwise good season.

Now 2014 hurt the most, but I think we can all agree what loss left us dejected. I think the fans and the team both just collapsed into dejection after this game. We went from darlings of the playoff race, to this embarassment.

I loved the play where we had an offensive lineman fall down while lining up. What a metaphor for the season....big, beastly strong, seemingly ready to steamroll someone....and then inexplicably falls over with no reason for it.

Jackson winning the Heisman was great but I look at that season somewhat with disappointment. Its a reminder we couldn't win 10 games in a season with such a great player.

Everyone forgets Cox threw an inbound pass at the end that was picked off by UCLA. Crum was screaming for a time out and did not get it. That was just as costly if not more than Howard‘s missed FT.

Cox actually threw 2 inbound passes in a row that UCLA stole and scored on in their come from behind victory. UofL was the superior team that day but did not win.

They would have mud stomped UK in the NC game had they played. Wasn't that game in 1975 or so?...one of Crum's best teams ever IMO. Broke my heart when we lost that game.
