I think the THT shutdown potentially has large implications for state of Illinois recruiting. Some of the q's I'm thinking about...
* What other D1 coach/program would accept an ultimatum/threat from a player/AAU coach?
* Will Simeon ever send another kid to Illinois and what other CPS schools will adopt a similar viewpoint?
* Does every big ten team now heavy up Chicago recruiting?
* What school would want get involved with Mac Irvin Fire?
* How should Illinois' AD react to this?
* How many security guards will be hired for the Morgan Park / Simeon games this year?
There was only one choice Underwood had as a leader which was to accept THT's commitment and let Ayo walk, if that was the threat. The inmates shouldn't run the asylum.
Lesson learned for THT and future recruits, he had solid offers months ago but in the end, only painted himself into a corner. The school chose him. Thankfully, he's going to a good school, especially if he has a passion for agriculture, with a good bball program. It's also a much more tolerable drive.
