Half this board is nothing but crying about refs. Are there bad calls? Sure, but most fouls are because the defense is atrocious and can’t stay in front of their man and try to recover late. It’s weak to blame refs for a loss….blame not coming up with two rebounds when it was tied then a one possession game that Bama got 6 second chance points on

It’s a case by case basis for me. I think people were right to be upset by the Georgia game. The team making a point to make as much contact as possible being the only one to shoot free throws was outrageous in that game.

Today was a different story. There might have been a couple of calls that weren’t perfect, but for the most part, Alabama wasn’t getting away with things that we weren’t. The free throw differential was mostly just that we had a hard time staying in front of the ball on defense.

Never ever cry about the refs. Refs make bad calls in all games. It’s no excuse. No one is out to get Kentucky. We aren’t that cool

No, it's partly bc there was a point of emphasis by the ncaa.

There's a reason the nba's ratings are so bad, and they are doing their best to turn the college game to it. You aren't allowed to defend 3s.

I get you have to give a player room to land. But here's the kicker they can't figure out...players aren't stupid. If you're a shooter and anyone is remotely close to you...fall down. They'll fall for it.

In fact they call it more than the players shooting hand actually being hit.

This is the problem with official emphasis...they go overboard and make anything close the call as if they're cops with a traffic ticket quota

I don't think it's too much to ask for them to be consistent. The stretch of 10-2 fouls on us was killer. Similar contact on our end resulted in a play on for us. For them they were rewarded with a trip to to line. Inconsistent. I would love to see Joe Lindsay and Patrick Evans relieved of the duties along with a few more. But the SEC won't do anything about it. Never have never will.

Well first there were more than a few bad calls and a bunch of no calls, my complaint is they need to call the same way on both ends and at times they did not. Bama was very physical and in the 1st 6 minutes of the 2nd half Bama was in the bonus while only having 1 foul called on them. UK lost this game in general that is for sure, they had the opportunity to win it but blew it.

Bama was in the double bonus 8 minutes into the second half.

We got the lead and they made the decision to control the game.

If you don’t want to see it, or don’t want to talk about it, that’s fine. I won’t stop.

We still had chances to win. That’s what the refs want us to say. Don’t blame the refs. We still could have won.

The refs CONTROL the game. They put us on our heels.

Gambling controls the game.

It couldn’t be any more clear.

NO!!!!!

The numbers don't lie and it has become a PATTERN for SEC Refs when the Cats play.

Is our defense bad, of course. Do we give up too many offensive rebounds, YES. Do we make unforced turnovers, sure.

BUT, these games where our opponents shoot WAY MORE FT's than we do when we ALL see the hacking and smacking that goes on AGAINST UK, the numbers DON'T bear it out!!!

I don't have a problem with the officiating. When you look at the start of the 2nd half, Alabama drove to the basket every position, which will produce more fouls. They have multiple players that can beat our defense off the dribble. Ky may have 2 players that can dribble and get to the basket against any team. Kentucky played hard, just not as talented as Alabama.

Under 6 mins. They made more plays. Plain and simple. They drilled their 3s and we did not. We had poor shot selection as well. They attacked the rim all day and we did foul. That’s why they went to the stripe more than us.

It wasn’t the refs. Get over it.

Dude cry about it. Enough with the victim complex. It was a good game, two great teams. They made more shots and had less turnovers.
Bama actually had 2 MORE turnovers than we did.

No "victims" here, just pointing out the numbers that have become a PATTERN in these SEC games. We LOST, bottom line, but it doesn't help when we end up on the short end of the stick EVERY SEC game. Away from Rupp it's MORE understandable, but even at home it's puzzling.

Sure felt like we had more TOs. We had a crucial stretch there at the end where we could
Have tied the game after a big stop and turned it over. I believe one was on butler and one on brea maybe. With me when I watch that game I just feel like they got us. They outplayed us late. They attacked the rim all day and I believe we fouled. That’s why they went to the line more.

We shot 13 more 2s than them and they shot 7 more 3s than us, yet they shot 14 more free throws. Lulz

This:
"most fouls are because the defense is atrocious and can’t stay in front of their man and try to recover late"

And: Why is it that most teams that we play, including teams with much lesser talent like Western Kentucky, crawl up inside of OUR jerseys and take US out of our offense?

Amen, you rarely see a finesse ROAD team in the bonus within 6 minutes of a half. It was 9-2 and then they started giving us some calls on the other end to even it up. Calls that weren’t being made in the first 6 minutes of the half. Today wasn’t as obvious as Georgia but it definitely qualifies as suspicious.

The whistle could've been more consistent but it's not why we lost. They made big shots at crucial points and they made their free throws. Gotta give them credit for the win but I'm looking forward to playing them again. They played very well. We did a lot of good things but we needed more perimeter shooting...

There's multiple reasons why teams lose though. It's never just one. If we lose because of 1 missed free throws at the end, that doesn't excuse high turnovers, and vice versa.

We really need to stop saying things like "well Carr didn't have his best game, so no excuses on officiating". You don't have to be perfect to be able to win. And this is again one of those games where if UK got the home whistle, and therefore it was Alabama that couldn't play it's own game, then we probably win.

Let's fix the officiating first and then we can worry about what we need to do better.
