He is two years younger, almost precisely, than Levi haines who will have completed a collegiate career and competed at senior worlds before Basset steps foot on a college campus. He is DAMN near two full years older than Jayden James who will be graduating highschool the same year....My random thought is holdbacks are dumb normally, they are especially egregious when the kid is already one of, if not the oldest kids in their grade by virtue of being an August birthday. If Jayden James got held back he would graduate at 18 years old. That's one thing. Turning 20 before you ever go to college and not skipping a year between highschool is absurd. The PIAA should not allow 19, nearly 20, year old MEN to compete in highschool regardless of reason. It's highschool sports. I turned 19 and had been in the military for over a year and half and I was 18 when I enlisted.....Rant over for now. God I hate hold backs.
