... may just be a wizard. Looks like our old boy is doing it again with Deondre Francois.

Randy Sanders is one of the most underrated quarterback coaches in the country. He might not have the same fanfare as some of the other so-called quarterback gurus around the country, but Sanders has a résumé that puts fanfare to shame.

"He's a great quarterbacks coach, the best I've been around," said former Kentucky coach Joker Phillips, who's now working as a quality control assistant on Urban Meyer's staff at Ohio State. "He's honest with his players, able to coach his guys hard because of his relationship with them and has a great football mind."

Sanders, who doesn't do media interviews per Fisher's policy at FSU, has worked with everybody from Peyton Manning to Tee Martin to Randall Cobb to Winston.

Yep. Arguably one of the best qb coaches in the game. Knows how to get the best out of them.

Andre Woodson's "emergence" as a QB came when Randy Sanders joined the staff. Coincidence? I think not.

FWIW, Stoops has finally seen the need for a true QB coach on the staff.

Peace

Sanders made Joker. Sanders as a QB coach is awesome. But, you do need the talent. Francois has the talent. Morgan Newton?

Sanders is an awesome QB coach

Sanders is a dreadful offensive coordinator, proven not just at UK but previously at UT as well

I agree, but as a QB coach he is a great resource for OCs. He makes OCs better. The guy was hired quickly for a reason.

Forgive me for my ignorance, but what is a quality control assistant coach?

Randy Sanders lived closed to me and besides being a good football coach, he was just a good guy. If you go back to the 2007 and watch their offense, they would go to the line and then look over at him and he has an unbelievable ability to recognize what is happening on the defensive side of the football. I agree that he is a great quarterback coach and I think his ability to work the film room with the quarterback and teach the quarterback what to look for is unmatched.

It is basically anything the school wants it to be except a full time position coach. That number is regulated by NCAA by-laws but "office help" is not. While "anyone" can help recruiting on-campus, only the full time position assistants can actively recruit off campus.

On the Morgan Newton comment. Great kid but he wasn't a SEC QB and no coach could change that.
