No sure what is wrong with me maybe I have been pushed to the edge but I think I am done with the Husker Football. 15 years ago I would have been mad as hell with a result like this. Maybe the last 15 years has killed my love for the Huskers. I miss power football with the option mixed in.

I hope I am wrong but as I watched I kept think things look like HCMR + Banker = Billy C + Cos. Will need to sleep on it and watch the game again.

There are a few thing to be hopeful for and one of the is Mark and his cat are gone. Tackling was better.

Wonder what things would be like if SE interviewed more than one person?....?

Why in the world do you compare a new regime that made adjustments in game and at half to another regime that did nothing? Riley today proved more to me than Frank the Tank, Cally and Bobo. The man is a professional who doesn't have the right talent for his schemes however made adjustments during the game against his philosophy unlike the last 3 coaching staffs.

I'm curious, Bob. What adjustments did we make at halftime? Everyone mentions them but I really didn't see any. Was hoping someone could explain the adjustments to me.

I wish I could answer this question, but missed the entire second half. I don't know what adjustments were made, but some must have happened.

BYU had 300 or so yards at the half and 24 points. In the second half, up until the final drive, they had 132 yards and 3 points. If no adjustments were made, after seeming them shred us in the second quarter, how do you explain their lack of production? Sure it could have been poor execution, but since I didn't see the second half, I am going to assume we made some changes that affected their ability to move the ball. I also saw that they were 5 of 17 on third and fourth down conversions, which is pretty darn good.

It'll be interesting to see what others say about the changes that were made... I have no doubt, just looking at statistics, adjustments had to have happened.

The adjustments Riley made....the BYU NT got injured, so we were finally able to run the ball.....a little bit.

No you're absolutely correct timnsun. If no adjustments were made then BYU would have scored 48 points with 600+ yards.

Don't Look Back, Just Look Forward.
I know exactly how you feel. I felt the same this morning. I am done with Husker Football is a natural reaction from fans who have so much Love for it and after everything we have been through. That being said, we will never stop loving it that much and we must give this staff the chance to correct and get better. some of that can be done over the next couple weeks and I hope it happens. But it will also take giving them a couple years overall aswell. Thats is where it gets hard. Everybody wants instant results, but it just does not work like that.
We have to brush it off the best we can and move forward. Easier said than done, I know. I am dealing with it too.

One of the reasons I asked is because Aaron Williams in the PC said they didn't make any adjustments, just cleaned up some stuff. I would think with the swing from first half to second there would have been and if so, what were they?

I'm curious to know how much Hill's injury played a part in an improved second half of defense compared with any adjustment made by the staff. I'd guess probably a combination of both.

If hill had not been injured we would have lost by ten plus points. He absolutely torched the defense the first half.

Fans will see what they want to see. Sunshine-pumpers will say "Silver lining! Wow it's great to have a coach who makes adjustments!!! All is well and great!"
Doubters will say "It's only because BYU was playing a freshmen qb with their potential all-american hurt and a hurt NT. We didn't do anything different, they just played worse"
My guess is it's a combination of the two. I'm sure the staff did some coaching at halftime that led to improvement, but probably didn't make any earth-shattering adjustments.
And I'm sure BYU would have been better with no injuries, but that freshmen QB was no slouch and a D-line is bigger than one player.
Extremes are never really accurate.

The entire hiring process and when he was hired was ridiculous. This move sets us back another 5 years minimum until the next guy.

Christ on a cracker - can some of you get a life. This game is a sample size of one. I hate the loss but I am far from ready to run Riley et al out of town.

I am starting to think that Columbo is the best TV show of all time.
Is it?
I don't know, but it's pretty damn good.
