Numerous outlets reporting that scouts are impressed and feel he has far and away been the best-looking QB thus far. Other notable QBs participating are Penix, Nix, Hartman and Milton.
Sounds Like NE Patriots may be locking in on Rattler

Leggett will show out in the combine with his size and speed. Hopefully Spencer can work his way into a first day pick. Worst case, early 2nd day pick.

I think whoever picks up Rattler will be VERY happy. I think he's close to the complete package QB.

The first thing that matters, is arm talent. If that's not there, nothing else matters much. Even Spencer's detractors concede his arm talent. Most evals go something like "Rattler's elite arm talent has never been questioned. However...".

He's also demonstrated a strong football IQ with his decision-making. He had few "what was he thinking?" moments this season, though he was playing many snaps under duress.

He's never going to be mistaken for dual threat, but anyone who saw our games know he was mobile enough to save us quite a few sacks this year. And, most of the sacks he took, he was under pressure almost immediately after the ball was snapped. Though he's not mobile, he's smart in the pocket with the mobility he has.

He's as tough as they come. Few QBs in all of college football took as much of a beating as Rattler did this season, but I don't think he ever missed a single snap from getting banged up or getting the wind knocked out of him.

Frankly, I think you could have plugged Spencer into any top 10 team this season and there would not have been much, if any drop-off, at all. If he had average protection, a couple WRs and a respectable run game, he'd have been a top QB this past season.

He can make all the throws. No doubt. My only issue with him was inconsistency on the road. I'm sure that can be remedied where there are no restrictions on practice time. Hard to imagine him being worse than:

Mason Rudolph
Kenny Pickett
Bailey Zappe
Mac Jones
Adidan O'Connell
Jarrett Stidham
Daniel Jones

Yeah, it's just hard for me to extricate from the overall team performance. The whole team basically sucked on the road. And considering our offense basically consisted of Rattler and Legette, the margin for error is slim.

I'm sure that'll come up with scouts, though.

Rattler and Legette and no OL.

I think he's impressed more than one NFL team at the Senior Bowl practices and hence the direct attention from the Patriots referenced in the article posted above in this thread.

I love the comparison of these two analyses of Rattler from the Senior bowl:

"The biggest disappointment out of this group for me so far this week has been South Carolina's Spencer Rattler. I have him ranked as the third-best QB at this year's Senior Bowl, and he's not been able to hold that position so far through two days. On day two, he just seemed off from the start, as I watched him airmail attempts during WR vs CB one on one's, and it carried over throughout the practice. He arguably has the most pure talent of any QB here this week, but it doesn't matter if he can't produce anything of substance with it. "

No quarterback was otherworldly in Mobile, mainly due to the practice structure, but Rattler appeared poised, decisive, and fundamentally sound from the first moment he stepped into Hancock Whitney Stadium. He reminded scouts of the flashes of greatness he's displayed in the past and that there are more than just two or three good passers in the draft class. He shouldn't be in any first-round mocks, but Rattler should not be forgotten about on day two. I'd argue he was the best-performing Senior Bowl quarterback.

That negative analysis came from a USA Today reporter, not a pro scout or coach, and is contradictory to what we are hearing from the pros with money in the game.

I just goes to show that no matter how much scouts and execs try and make talent evaluation an exact science - it just never will be. There’s literally no metric (like running the 40), no practice drill, no amount of college game film that can accurately predict performance level in the NFL.

I think NYJ would be a perfect scenario for him. Get to sit and develop behind Rogers for a few years until he retires and take over. Or maybe the Rams behind Stafford. He can't have too long left.

Rattler won me over with his attitude and team orientation. He didn't crap on the team or coaches because we weren't winning enough. Accordingly, my support for him and best wishes for all his future endeavors will remain boundless. God bless him.

He’s named QB1 for his team; ‘American’ team I think it was. That says enough to me; these guys aren’t stupid.

He’s BY FAR my favorite qb we’ve had, and I go back to Suggs as I believe you do as well. And that includes the golden boy with the nfl talent all around him during his time.

The impression I had of him after 6 games of his first season was totally opposite of the one I have now. Changing a negative first impression is a very difficult thing to do, and he did it with class.

Rattler won me over, big time. I thought he’d be a problem coming in. I was 100% wrong and he’s one of my favorite Gamecocks of all time. I’ll take guys like him over the Deebo types all day long.

I never watched whatever the show was that had him in a bad light so I had no preconceived opinion; I just know you could see from the jump he was real deal, a step above. I see a lot of rhetoric from folks who I don’t think really understand what they’re looking at about ‘poor decisions’; the reality is that if a play doesn’t work it’s labeled poor and if it does it’s lauded, and sometimes chances are necessary. The fanspeak about progressions and some other guy being ‘wide-open’ is easy to say and damn hard to do when you’re working with what Rattler had to work with; he tried to make plays because no one else was the majority of the time, and I will never fault a guy for that. As I said in 22, you’re gonna miss him when he’s gone.

He was hobbled his whole time here by insufficient roster management.
