Real disaster averted: Lembo not going to Towson

Don’t know how much merit there was to the rumors, but it was rumored that Lembo may be pursuing the Towson HC opening. Uva is now reporting that Lembo has told him he’s not pursuing the job. I wasn’t even aware of the rumor until I saw UVA’s tweet.

Towson HC would seem like a serious downgrade for an SEC assistant.

I think he pretty much made his feelings known when he said he was loyal to Beamer. Unless someone throws irresistible money at him, I think he is here for a while. He has already done the HC thing.

Lembo is an absolute keeper. Selfishly, I'd like to think he'd be happy staying here to coach ST forever. I miss the old days of college football when you had assistants who were happy to be assistants and being masters of their craft.

If there was anything to the rumor, then he's at least looking, and no one should blame him for that.

He's due to move up soon, here or somewhere else.
