Let me preface by saying this is in no way to support UL Athletics. Taking my girl to a concert/dinner next Thursday (Zac Brown) and don't know downtown Louisville well but where are some ideas to get to early (prob 4 or 5) and park near Yum and grab an early dinner before the concert for any of you all familiar with the area? Thanks in advance!

My favorite downtown is Against The Grain, but its 5 or 6 blocks away. I would go with BBC or Doc Crow's for bar and grill type stuff. Milkwood is nice but a little fancy for my tastes. You can walk down to 4th Street Live of course. They just opened a Burger & Mussell Bar downtown too. That might be a real nice choice for you too.

Is the muscles and burger open down there now?

If it is, OP you should go, best $10 burger out there (sans Jack Frys)

Sidebar is just as good, better bar, and right beside the arena.

It's a burger joint...custom blend of Chuck, Strip, Brisket, and Short Rib. They're fantastic, like butter.

Great cocktails as well.

You guys do realize lettuce on a burger has a purpose on most gourmet burgers right? You put lettuce in the bottom bun to keep it from soaking in all the grease and becoming soggy. The more you know...

I concur that Sidebar is the most convenient (right next to Yum) and has a good burger (haven't eaten anything else there). It is always crowded when there is an event at Yum. Get there early.

Just be mindful of the tip you got if a male waiter asks you if your want your burger dressed.
