Thinking of putting roof over existing deck. A large tree is in middle of current deck. Reccomendations for contractor to remove tree and a contractor to install roof? Also will need to finance. Guess a second mortgage or heloc are my two options? Back construction gave me an estimate but were much more than I was willing to pay.

So you are cutting a tree down over your deck, but want to build a roof, which will require use of wood, to cover your deck?
I suggest if you do this, use the wood from tree to frame your roof , lower your carbon footprint print.

Thought about that option, but concerned with all the debris from tree falling onto roof and having to clean off roof too often.
I have never understood why someone would build a deck around a tree. I know they are not Paddock posters b/c we all have the money and then some to cut it down.
OP are you screening that ***** in to ? I mean its the Paddock, if you put a roof over the deck, might as well go all out and screen it in, hot tub, game room. Can you post a pick of the back of your house and deck ? I need to know what you are working with here, only then can I give you suggestions / estimate.
