Recruiting Update

Been out of the loop lately due to work. Didn't get a chance to watch the last scrimmage but did stop by today and had a interesting recruiting conversation with the person who does some of the under the radar stuff.

As you know by now Wills to Alabama is done. Coaches have been informed. Danny Davis is less than likely. Lynn Bowden is not looking good either.

Coaches are going to be more selective in Ohio. Not gonna waste their time on kids who are waiting on a OSU offer. Florida kids have been more and more receptive to a UK offer. With the number of Ohio recruits not really panning out expect South Florida recruiting to really heat up.

Still hearing good things about Drew Barker.
Benny Snell continues to impress. Coaches feel good about the offensive line. Expect special teams to be 100% better this year.

Where's Davis leaning to? And I heard MJ Webb committed to USCe. Man, we really need to step up our DL recruiting.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated, but it sounds like we are still doing OK with Ohio players to me, take Snell and Ross for instance.

If we do miss on Danny Davis and Lynn Bowden, I'll be alright. One thing is for sure, we're definitely not hurting for talent or depth at WR or CB, so it'll be fine. Think this is a move that we can afford to make.

If they play us along to wait for better offers and we have a need that could be filled with another player from south Fl take him. But we need to go after ohio players every year! Like to keep the door open and keep recruiting for a late flip or 2. Knowing meyer he will spur a few along the way.

Obviously, a couple of our top 2018 recruits coming to visit next month are from Ohio, so I take the comments you heard to mean perhaps less focus on guys sought by Ohio St, Mich and Mich St, more focus on south Fl. What about Georgia, could you ask about more emphasis there or other states, rivals?

I sure do hope you're right about Timmons having a breakout year, but after hearing about the kid dropping more balls, it makes you wonder if the kid will ever fix that problem he has catching balls that should have been caught by him. It's frustrating to watch him drop a ball that was right there in his hands and knowing that if the kid could just catch the ball, he has crazy talent to make an exciting play that could turn out winning us the game. I am not giving up all hope just yet. We all know the kid has talent through the roof. We have to hope the kid gets over the past few years and start to play the game with more swagger and start making those plays he is capable of making on the field!

Not to be a dick, and I appreciate the info, but would you care to reveal who you really are? Been following UK message boards for 10+ years and there have been far too many examples of posters claiming to be "such and such" with expert information. I'm just asking for validation and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Thanks in advance.

This dude is not full of b.s. He at least knows what he is talking about and seems to be truthful. It's nice to have a guy like this posting on this forum. I know a lot of people pretend to be former players and give out false information they made up, but it looks like we finally found one that is telling the truth.
