Wow! So since it's one year what do people expect after? Is this a cash in then go win a ring?

That is insane money. Great for JJ.
That paycheck is nice! His career 3pt% is right there with Klay Thompson, even though his defense isn't quite to that level. I think the Sixers have the luxury of cap space next year and really needed a court spacer to make the other pieces fit. The money for this one year is no biggie for them to get the right guy. If their experiment works, they can draft another pure shooter or pick up a cheaper bomber.

Not possible! Gary over at THR said JJ wouldn't last 3 years in the league.

How long has guru gary -7 been around now? It's nice that these places they are in let them use the internet and join discussion boards but I really think their counselors should monitor what they post. OFC

Am I correct in thinking JJ played for the Sixers before. They are young and could be very good in a couple of years. Do you guys think Okafor will stay.? OFC

I don't think he did. He was drafted by Orlando, then was in Milwaukee for a couple years I believe, then the clippers, and now 76ers. It's gonna be weird seeing JJ in a Sixers Jersey though. Lol! I have been so used to seeing him on the Clippers.

Yeah great for JJ. Look I think he's had a solid pro career, but 24 million to JJ? Am I the only one that thinks this a ridiculous amount to a guy who yes, is a good 3 point shooter, but isn't a great ball handler or defensive player?

They went out and got the best free agent outside shooter. JJ could've easily gotten a 3-year 40 million dollar deal. It was smart to demand a big 1-year contract, because there's a reasonable possibility his market value nose dives as his legs go due to age. Hopefully he has another 4 years left, but you never know. His knees and back have pounded the parquet a long while.

So answer....Hansbrough 16+ mil for his career. I know he made a lot at UNC but pretty sure his mom cut into those earnings

Great post. It's refreshing to have hanstravelflopsandgetsfouledalotbutnever fouls back in our discussions along with dear old mom tami. He tore up the "D" or "G" league this past season and according to some of the top thr posters his return to dominance in the NBA is all but a done deal. Is tami possibly handling his negotiations? OFC

He was with the bucks half a season lol and it's great money but he's not exactly a scrub. He averaged 15 ppg as a starter of a very talented team.. hope he bumps that up to around 20 this year.. should get great looks

Pretty sure the guru was calling it that Moses was staying with the Egyptians instead of joining the Jews.

If he is only staying there a year I doubt he's going to buy a house. Great for him, but crazy. AND, if he has a great year then he flips that into another big deal.

I think it was a smart move.
