And moments like this suggest he ain’t handling the pressure all that well.

That’s hilarious, I literally just watched a clip of him giving Doc Rivers( who is the most overrated coach ever) crap on First Take or something where he said he always made excuses for losing and never took accountability! He has done the same thing all series lmfao.

I think JJ was an upgrade at coach over Ham, he's just on a learning curve. You can't say no to the Luka trade, but it made the Lakers a worse team this year. AD complimented Lebron well and the Lakers basically have no center at this point. There's a reason they tried to trade for Mark Williams immediately after the Luka trade.

I think it’s really hard to evaluate coaches anymore. Some coaches lead their teams to the finals and get canned the next year these days. Ham seemed ok, nothing special but he won a few series and made a WC finals appearance. I think they are too quick to can guys especially for a dude who never coached before anywhere.

Tough comparison. Vogel had a prime AD and 6 years younger LeBron in the bubble. Ham had a pretty mediocre team that made a run in the playoffs by beating a Memphis team that was a hot mess.

He underachieved a little, but not sure the comparisons to the other coaches is apples and apples. Such a risk to bring in a guy that has never coached. Organizations looking for the next Steve Kerr.

1. I thought the Lakers were a better team this year vs. last year with essentially the same roster until the Luka trade.
2. Lakers did get to 3 seed....but drew a TWolves that was struggling early with Randle/KAT trade then got it figured out...and was a tough draw
3. But the 3-1 gentlemen's sweep....pretty uncompetitive series.

But in the end, the Lakers had to make that trade for Luka and they'll have to make moves to get size and floor spacers for Luka/Lebron to lead the offense. And they have to figure out defenders as Luka will never be a solid defender. So a guy like Austin Reeves...to me, he's a good offensive player but he's another "meh" defender. So is his skill set best suited for a Lebron/Luka team. So they have alot of tough decisions to make...but the Lakers have talent (one is 41 years old next year), good priced player in Reeves and Hachimura and then a bench that needs to be addressed.

It’s a word. A common word. It has interpretations like a lot of other words. I didn’t know JJ had so many protectors on the UK board
No one is protecting JJ. It's just absurd to critique a basketball coach's coaching ability by calling him woke. The word literally has nothing to do with basketball. It's basically like if I said he sucked because he was a socialist. A catch all term that means nothing.

I actually don't mind Redick that much. I can't stand LeBron and he has ruined the Lakers. They won't win anything with him.

I wasn’t critiquing his coaching. Just him in general

One thing's for sure, the fireman and plumbers of the NBA past that JJ mocked wouldn't ***** out of an interview like that! 🤣😂

How?

They literally threw the towel in on the season and basically the LBJ era. They had 0 chance of competing this year after the trade.

JJ is redickukously gay but not seeing how this was a massive choke at all.

All the teams 2 to 7 were within a few games of each other. A lot of parity.

Because down 2-1 in the series and with a big lead in game 4, he played all of his starters the whole second half. Some of the worst game management I’ve ever seen.

He choked because he had no faith in his rotations.

Too early to say anything about JJ. First year coaching and a first year exit. Not a good start.

He was always so arrogant on tv and believes he’s the “smartest person in the room” all the time. He hitched his wagon to James and how has that turned for everyone not named Rich Paul 🤔???

What did you expect from a dukie? Also, he stupidly put dalton knecht on ice. dumb move.

That decision was especially bizarre considering his two best players are: 1) the single oldest player in the entire league; and 2) a guy notoriously prone to conditioning/exhaustion issues. Those ain’t the kind of stars that can be deprived of any rest.

Last night both Lebron and Luka looked like their legs were spent …especially Lebron, I’d never seen him look that slow. Hmm, I wonder what could’ve contributed to that?

Exactly. Coaching malpractice.
