Nah, Klay is much bigger and a way better defender. Kinda more one dimensional being a 3 point and defensive specialist. Granted he did that at the highest level possible for multiple all star games and will probably be a HOF’er. Reed fits more into a smaller ball handler, who can finish at the rim better than people think, with a high IQ that can score all over the floor. He is a lot more athletic than people think too. His defense is his weak spot ,and so is Steph’s. It doesn’t matter because he is so dangerous in every other aspect on the court.

Hard to believe in March he was being totally outclassed by some random guy from the Horizon League. And now he’s the new Steph Curry?
People have bad games man even the greats. It's obvious he is very good at basketball I think we can ALL agree on that. I don't think it's a shocking statement to say he plays in a similar manner to Steph. There are many similarities in their style of play.

If he puts some work in i could really see him starting some day...
In Reeds defense Csl made John Wall, Brandon Knight, Jamal Murray, Devin Booker, Tyler Herro, etc etc look like absolute **** in their last game here.

Well said. We need to move on from these kids who had no intention of coming back to UK. There is no way anyone will convince me that Reed, him knowing he was going to have a huge payday, had ANY intention on coming back.
He was projected top 3. I do not believe he entered school last year thinking one year and I'm out of here. I think clearly we have had several with that thinking. If you wish to lay blame for Reed exiting blame NBA talent evaluators.
Yeah it totally was his fault we had no success last year, and not Cal being a clown show coach who cared more about his NBA prospects.
I can be a pretty harsh critic but I truely believe while Shep knew he would play in the league some day he didn’t think he’d go lottery and leave year 1. Being in the lottery changes everything and if my son was lottery I’d tell him to go and continue to love the university and finish the degree as he could. His parents are loyal to the school, I don’t believe the family would do that.

Agreed, the last 12 months was a whirlwind for Reed. There were questions of if he could even play at a high level in COLLEGE. The NBA was still such a pipe dream this time last year. His decision to go to the NBA, after just one year and winning basically nothing at all.. stings to say the least. But I can't blame him.
If anything I blame the basketball Gods.. How absolutely unfortunate UK was to get literally nothing out of him, during a year when the draft was historically bad. In hindsight, Houston Rockets (and other teams) probably said "You won't make it past our pick", and therefore Reed and his family probably knew he was a mid to high lottery pick by April. He was just good enough that he couldn't pass up a lottery pick, but not quite good enough (or used properly), to win us a single tournament game. It's almost comical. The odds of it all happening the way it did.. it's like rolling snake eyes 3x in a row .
If you told me we could have that Reed a 2nd year, but the price is you have to get embarrassed and lose opening round in the tournament.. I might roll those dice. But instead, we just got embarrassed. And Reed had an awful night.
I don't think anyone expected Reed to blow up the way he did when he got here. I think most of us thought he'd be a 2-3 year guy at least. Boy were we ever wrong. but anywho, could you imagine if he had said he was going to stay and help Pope get his UK coaching career off to a big start? Is there any player out there more suited to this offense? He would have been a scoring machine and National POY candidate.
People need to slow up with the comparisons. Let’s let the kid play some games against real NBA guys before we get carried away. He has far exceeded what everyone thought he could be. But comparing him to not only one of the, if not, the greatest shooters of all time, but also one of the best dribblers and body control guards ever before he has played first official game is crazy.

Closer to Kirk Hinrich than any of them.
He's neither. He and his teammates did a whole lot of nothing last year. So they were individually good players, but they were a bit on the marginal side as far as great UK teams are concerned.
If you can provide proof that Reed had any doubt in his mind about being good enough to leave for the NBA, and not wanting to go for it, provide the proof.
