UK started taking requests for regional and super regional tickets today for season ticket holders. A couple of things of interest. Parking passes are $20. Reserved seating prices are $85 for all sessions. If you want to set on the Cliff, you have to buy a ticket. Just wanted to pass the info along.

Now is it a done deal UK will host one or both? Do they have to win the majority of the remaining 7 games

We'd have to have a pretty major slide, IMO, to miss hosting a regional. I feel like we need to win the majority to be a national seed and host a super regional.

That's my feelings too. Unless the wheels come completely off, then a host for a regional is all but a lock. Super, UK has its work cut out for them.

I hope this team can regroup and really show their talent in the remaining games. You can't have infielders and outfielders dropping balls with 2 outs in the ninth just because you are up tight. Everything this team has worked for will go down the drain unless these Batcats can regain their mojo.Tennessee, Indiana and NKU are must games and a sweep of these 5 games would take the momentum to Gainesville for their showdown series vs Florida. I would love to see Hjelle and Lewis try to pitch into the ninth inning. This would allow Mingione to use Salow more often and truly closed games. I think that Machamer and Thompson have earned the trust of Mingione to pitch in more meaningful games, Losing Pop has hurt the strength of the bullpen, hopefully he will be back for the Gators.

I think if we don't have Pop for the Florida series then it might be good to have someone other than Thompson pitch against NKU. Kind of pitch by committee. NKU is 17-30 and we should be able to beat them soundly. However, the Florida games will likely be close games and we're going to need quality arms to turn to and Thompson is definitely one of those. So, I would think it might be good to have other guys pitch or give everyone one or two innings to save arms.

EXACTLY...... Go with Schaenzer for a couple innings, McHammer a couple, Keene, Cleary, Hamilton etc. Get everyone a little work.

I don't think you necessarily need to sweep the Vols, although it would be a good thing, to have a shot at a national seed. Win the series against Tennessee and Florida and win at least 2 in Hoover and I think our chances are pretty good. And cheer like hell LSU takes the series against MSU.

What are the prospects for tickets for those of us who are not season ticket holders (I live out of town)?

I think it kind of all depends on what happens around us. As I said before, it is hard for me to imagine a situation in which the SEC has more than 2 national seeds. So, we need to position ourselves to be that national seed. Right now, Florida has an RPI of 4, Kentucky is 9th, and Miss. State is 12th. Part of me thinks that the SEC might not even get 2 national seeds. Right now Clemson, UL, and UNC seem to have probably locked down three of them for the ACC, Oregon State, Texas Tech, and TCU are likely to get them. That leaves two spots. Florida, as of now, has one. Does the committee fill that with another SEC team or would they consider taking Virginia?

I don't think we have to sweep Tennessee, but it would certainly help us. The good thing is that UT is a top 45 RPI team, so beating them as many times as possible should move the needle for us. Meanwhile, Florida will be playing Alabama who has an RPI of 172... hopefully Florida has a terrible week and loses two to Bama just as Auburn did, but I am not going to hold my breath on that.

By the way, Louisville is the only RPI top 25 team with a SOS at 100 or higher.

Pitiful schedule...that is why I've said before that I don't give a damn about their record because of that...that have won 11 straight I think, but if you look at the combined record of those teams it is well below .500.

We need to take at least two from UT this weekend and Florida lose one to Bama. Looking at the big picture, I think every UK fan would have been thrilled at the beginning of the year playing for a national seed in Gainesville the last weekend of the season.

Of that there can be no question . . .

Their SOS will get much better the next 2 weekends, at Clemson this weekend and home against Florida State. Throw in a mid week game with Indiana next week. They could lose 3 or maybe 4 of those games !
