….low.

The win against Number 1 Purdue was great, but, not really an indicator of how the season will play out. Same thing with this result tonight.

Look, I’m really irritated with this lack of effort tonight. It‘s inexcusable. These dudes are getting paid. However, it’s just an exhibition game, and we’re far from full strength.

Let‘s keep an open mind until the results start becoming official. Just my thoughts. Disappointing night though.

Chandler isn’t a point guard and I believe not having Lowe and Aberdeen out there made a big difference. I’m not going to name any names because I try my best to not bash any player publicly, but a few guys on the team need to be on the bench if they don’t give better effort on the court than they did tonight.

I thought Cal was barking out there.

It was a late era Cal team kind of effort.

Thank God it was not a march ncaa game.

When you win, they increase the first number by 1. When you lose they increase the second number by one.

We are 0 - 0. Guess what….

Not over reacting to this exhibition game. I don’t like the lack of effort and some guys need to ride the pine for that. But we will have two starters back, hopefully, and we can start the season differently.

It's going to play out just like last year did, kentucky beats a good team then turns around and loses to a bad team. Kentucky once again can't guard quick guards just like last year. Then the crazy injury bug is already jumping up and biting kentucky in the ***. Looking forward to another exasperating season of high and lows!!!!

That happens in 150 odd days, Mark Pope is going to have his backside lit on fire.

Have to see more games. But it seems to be trend for Pope coached teams so far... Beat the high ranked teams...look bad at against low ranked teams.. Injuries should not effect effort... And we showed very little of that tonight. I was always pissed when I was losing in my playing days. We where down 14, and they were laughing and joking at the free throw line. I'm perfectly aware that 3 of the people we spent a ton of money on was hurt... So losing the game, didn't bother me nearly as much as how we lost it.

Got to admit, Pope has a tougher assignment this year I believe.

Higher expectations in the rankings........questionable team (because we just got whooped by Georgetown)........and early injuries....

Im calling it, we will be lucky to be mid tier in the sec by the end of the season.

I don't like calling it but its better than saying we're #1 all the time....

Prove me wrong Coach Pope, win reg season sec title or the conf tourney.

All the feel good is wiped away now. Don't know if it's possible to check but I would be willing to say no eventual NCAA champ lost by 14 at home in an exhibition game.
This argument is invalid. You would have a valid point if we were playing with our starting PG, starting 2G and starting center last night.

Cal never put a team on the floor that didn’t play hard.

They might not have played well or smart. But they always played hard.

Maybe this team played hard last night too?

Sure didn’t look like it.

Its strange though, you'd figure Coach Pope could've adjusted more...I think he did his best and Cooley just wanted it more.

“Teams will play us like this but we don’t practice like this” Coach said after the game and I think that’s right. It’s not our style so we’re not used to seeing it. But I’d bet he figures out how to deal with that ASAP because it’s bit him in the *** at least twice now and I don’t get the sense he’s stubborn enough to keep losing to prove a point.

Theu were missing their top two guards.
