Remember when Kansas actually got a 2 seed?

8 losses and they got a 2 seed...... over Notre Dame who won the greatest conference in the world, the ACC. Sorry Kansas played in the pathetic big 12. Kansas isn't even the best team in their state!

Notre Dame only had 5 losses. I love the ACC baby! Big 12 is pure garbage!

I still think the Big 12 was pretty good this past season....but the love affair with Kansas was done up a bit much. This is the most ordinary team they've had since Self has been there. And no offense to Perry Ellis (he's a nice college player), but when he's your most dynamic talent there needs to be a lot around him to be really good. And KU didn't have that.

But I'd agree that Notre Dame needed a more favorable seeding. I thought they were a cinch 3-seed before rattling off three straight in the ACCT.

Not really a big deal if you think about it, you have the top 3 seed paired with the lowest 2 seed. You can flip them around if you'd like, but inevitably they probably were goign to be paired together in the Midwest.

There was no way WSU was losing yesterday. Experience & anger toward in-state blue blood who refused to play = Kansas recipe for disaster.

Odd that Kansas won't play WSU, Duke & UNC play Davidson.

Nah it's not a big deal, but it was a little hilarious watching the BIG 12 flop in the tournament. I think our conference is apparently much stronger than we realized it was as well. I certainly feel a lot less worse about losing to NC state now. And I'm also a little more impressed with us sweeping the holes (though to be fair, Arkansas was a favorable match-up)

I think they certainly had the talent, but needed some refining. Losing Alexander hurt a lot. But with talent like Traylor, Greene, and Oubre, there was a good core there.

There was parody in the Big 12, but those relatively even teams were all residing on a different tier than many of the talking heads would have you believe.

Yep. And it's still a young core. If Oubre and Alexander are still around next year they would be pretty good.

Speaking of which....what happened to Selden? He was labeled a can't miss recruit when he came in out of high school. Last year he was a borderline first-round pick and it almost looks as if he should have gone. He will never be seen in that light again.

I always think the same when I see them play. He pops up for a big play every now and then, but you hear his name from the announcers and think "oh yeah, Selden is on the team".

Frankly, I'd love to have Greene or Oubre on Duke, particularly Greene. Good athleticism and an excellent shooting touch. Obviously, Justise has that, but I think Greene is a better shooter.

Kansas was also a 2 seed last year with 9 losses heading into the tournament and also lost in the 2nd round. Self does an excellent job building the schedule such that KU gets enormous credit for their wins and their losses tend to be looked over more. All the computer rankings and metrics love KU because of they game the system a bit with their scheduling.

Except the committee had Notre Dame ranked 12th on the S Curve. Oddly enough, UNC was 13th... so if UNC had won the ACC Tourney, they might have been a 3 and ND a 4 seed. That doesn't add up if you ask me, but the committee is known for making irrational decisions.

I live in wichita and let me tell you that was an *** beating the Shockers and Coach Marshall have wanted to put on the beakers from Lawrence for a long time. The arrogance and **** don't stink attitude that beaker fans carry around the state of Kansas has been completely deflated. Greg Marshall can coach, and he absolutely took Self to the woodshed Sunday. The Shockers are fun to watch, and what they did to the beakers Sunday has just quieted the beaker fans around here like I've never seen. Sunday was a great day to live in Wichita.

Frank Mason is talented, but this KU team was yearning for a Tyus Jones or TJ McConnell type of point guard. They needed a passer plain and simple. They did win their conference and a bunch of games though, so there isn't much to complain about, but point guard play is huge in this tournament (just look at who is left).

Fact. And Miami is playing in the NIT final four. And State has a chance at one in NCAA's. So, that is nothing to sniff at. Actually, all of the teams that beat us are still playing. That has to make us feel good about our chances as well.

Miami, Duke's "worst loss," finished with a winning record in the hands-down toughest conference in the country this year.
