Yea, I hope nobody here actually thinks the season just changed, it hasn't. As long as Zion doesn't miss more than 3 or 4 games, the mission is still attainable. And, even if we lost him, after adjusting we still have a great team. Sure , they didn't adjust immediately after the shock of that freak accident , but they can. I hate we have 4 or 5 doom and gloomers after a loss but its the nature of the beast.

My positive thoughts of the morning - 1) I have a feeling Zion plays @Syracuse at the earliest, Miami at the latest. 2) Last night represented the floor for our supporting cast's offensive production. They can't possibly shoot 15% from the field and 6% from 3 again. 3) Jack is about to turn it back on and start draining corner 3s consistently

It's funny how things can change so instantly. Everyone on top of the world yesterday morning, and now thinking the season is over.

Last night was especially bad because it was against our hated rival, at our house, we weren't even competitive for much of the game, and the worse part...we lost Zion. Yeah, that's a lot of bad in one night. But it's just one night. We're going to bounce back, and Zion will hopefully bounce back too.
UNC is riding high today, but that can change quickly...and I predict it will.

We will all bleed blue today, tomorrow and be ready for our game on Saturday. Last night was a bad dream, but we still have an obtainable goal in our future!

Look!!!! Everyone is lining up to play Duke. Turns out we are lousy. Can't shoot. Sievelike defense.

Oh, wait.......my mistake.........there's still nobody who really wants to see us on their schedule! :D

Let's Go Duke!

1. Zion is a freak of nature. This injury probably caused mutations in his body to allow him an extra 3 inches on his vertical. The ligaments and tendons have probably strengthened to the point of becoming indestructible. And he probably gained 6 more pounds of muscle.

2. We get another shot at UNC. Maybe 2. Maybe.....3....

3. Nas Little is legitimately worse than our 9 best players. He is going to go down as another in the long line of athletic freaks with no basketball skills who bust at the next level. (I could be wrong about this one, but I don’t think I am).

Two other teams in the country currently have 1 top 5 projected NBA draft pick talents on their teams. Even without Zion, Duke has 2. Hell, there may be no other team with 2 top 10 guys.

I don’t think anyone has given up on the season, with or without Zion this team is talented enough to compete for the natty. Last night was a lot to process. Raises some questions. Didn’t help the wound that it was against Carolina.

I’m not worried about us talent wise. I’m worried about how fast they mentally bounce back from this. A hangover game Saturday will be tragic in terms of confidence.

We will be fine. Watch when we come out against Syracuse and have a gameplan. We will win. Zion will be back. Everyone else will hold down the fort. We play better on the road anyway

Lots of basketball left. Unfortunately, the rivalry wouldn’t be what it is if we didn’t lose to UNC at times.

But we got some great kids. We can still do this.

well there really is no such thing as a "knee sprain". i suspect he had a hyperextension injury and that it hurt a lot.

but we gotta be able to play better when he is out.

there is a blue print to beat duke.. Get Zion out of the game.

Something was different though. We've had games when Zion was on the bench but we didn't look like we did last night. I don't know if everyone was shell shocked or what, but I don't remember looking like we did last night when he sits for several minutes.

Zion missed the entire second half against FSU and we looked respectable. I think the opponent, the shock and the emotion sent us spiraling right away last night. I would expect a better performance Saturday night if he’s not in the lineup.

The season is just starting. Zion's going to be back, the question is just when. Last night was the best UNX could hope for and they took advantage. I guarantee they will be concerned going into the game on March 9th. GTHC, GTH!

agreed jay. that's the thing. we looked better on the road against a respectable FSU club. Carolina just wooped us. It was a good lesson for the team.

Our defense last night was just terrible. there really was no excuse for that. Also our defense was suspect in the Louisville game also. They were scoring at will until they went into the 4 corners.

But Zion is the difference maker. He is the "freak". He is a scoring machine and he plays defense. Without him in the lineup we are a top 20 team and beatable.

I almost hope he doesn't play against 'Cuse. It will be a growth opportunity for the team. But if he is healthy - I would love to see him.

In 2 of the games where we lost players because of injuries (FSU and UNC) Cam has stepped up big time and scored 20+ points in both games and he’s been playing much better recently. He’s scored in double figures in 7 of our last 10 games.

Jack. 0 for his last 25.

God bless you if you still have faith at this point lol it’s a head thing now.

I don't think anyone denies it's not a head thing. I mean, how can it not be at this point? He just doesn't look fluid shooting whatsoever.

That said, sometimes it's just seeing one or two going through and picking up a little confidence. Jack maybe wasn't the shooter he was at the beginning of the season, but he's also not the shooter he is now.

Bottom line....he needs to find his confidence.
