SIAP - I came across a reverse angle video of the last play taken by a phone earlier today. (Can’t find it now) So….

Was it a bad pass and/or if it was a good pass, was there still time for that mullet dude to make the lay up?

Or had Banks got his hand in there to break up the pass to seal their fate?

Thanks in advance!

The pass was low but if he would have slightly alley ooped the ball their player #10 might have got a try for a tip in.

Rewatching those final seconds ….. still can’t believe the driving Florida player did not attempt a shot at the basket - maybe he makes the shot and if not, maybe he draws a foul call and if not, the Gator giants were there for a possible tip in.

Driving the length of the court all the way under the basket to attempt a clean pass into a crowded lane for a teammate buzzer bucket .. all that in 4 seconds was the worst possible decision IMO. I’m not complaining though.

I think that was the same Florida player who let Stirtz get loose [instead of fouling as we learned post-game] to dribble past mid-court and then pass to AF for the game winner.

Yep I think he should have put up the shot himself.. Glad he didn't. :)

I don't think this was a situation that they practiced regularly,.. They seemed to have under estimated the amount of time required to get down the floor and score..
Could be. I rewatched the video again, and it looked there may have been time for a quick lob and tip in but no more than that. As stated above, the clock was down to .7 or .8 by the time that wrapround pass reached FL's player.

Count me as one who thought he was going to making a driving circus layup for the win. Was very surprised he didn't attempt it. Maybe he thought the hawk d was going to swat it away
As I sit here enjoying some Joe Cocker songs, I totally agree!

Never saw this play before, but that's 100% what I thought was going to happen to the Hawks.

Kind of a spooky visual to imagine Hawkeye and Florida uniforms in that video.... Nearly the exact amount of time and going right to left on the broadcast too.

But it DIDN'T go in this time!
BOOM
Yep it was pretty much the exact same situation and UCLA was the 1 seed and Missouri 8.

Whew! Worked out for us.

Side note: I miss seeing all the unique courts of the different locales during March Madness
Me too. Each site had its own feel and I always remember this game on Boise's blue and orange court, along with other classic games. These generic March Madness floors.. Meh.

For all the folks griping about “excess” in the glass floor thread, this point ought to be of equal concern.

It’s a huge waste to pay for special “March Madness” courts to be created for every host site during the NCAA tourney.
