Just remember, we have grown most of our DLs from LBs like Howard and TEs like Neild. And many of our LBs grew from Safties like Kwitiakowski. When you think about it, that's kind of depressing; Eight 4-stars in almost 20 years, and only six contributed.

And WVU still beat the teams that many on here have orgasms over. Go figure. When you think about it, that's kind of depressing; Eight 4-stars in almost 20 years, and only six contributed.
The number of DL who have been drafted is extremely depressingWhen you think about it, that's kind of depressing; Eight 4-stars in almost 20 years, and only six contributed.
Think you may be blaming the LBs too much. When Gibby’s D was used, the other team got little pressure from our front 3 and recruiting D Linemen to that scheme was very difficult. This made our LBs and Safeties have to cover longer and take added run stop responsibility.Over the years, I've always believed our LB's have been the weakest unit on the field.
They always seemed to be either undersized and getting crushed by H-backs and/or a step slow filling a gap or running with a TE. This seemed to be especially true during the Holgorsen years but maybe I'm missing someone.
Just look at the difference Tony Fields made to an already decent defense just last year. Give me 4 star linemen and backers any day of the week over 4 star QB's, WR's, and RB's. They'll make everyone else better around them.
