I just finished reading virginia's thank you letter to his ex boss, who fired him years ago, for giving him subpar resources at every turn, and paying him last on the totem pole among his 12 peers for years.

Sniffle, sniffle.

One question for Walker,

Are you still standing by your comment that Gavin Skelly, (he of the two year career average of 2 points, 2 rebounds, less than half an assist), is the best power forward recruited in the last 15 years?

In other words, you would still take him over BC recruits like Vukusuic, Coble, Shurna, and others?

Aren't you busy? The Patriot league tournament will be here before you know it; until then, we'd appreciate it if you cease and desist these instigating flaming threads.

Are you a moderator? Maybe you shouldn't tell people what to post.

Carmody signed the contract(s). Undoubtedly the largest contract of his career, and one that stretched 13 years at NU. He must have been content with it. Too bad he couldn't live up to his end of the bargain.

So you're promoting censorship, I guess. Get off your high horse.

What in my post promoted censorship? I couldn't censor posts if I wanted to. Thewildcat responded in the same fashion to the troll's "post" but I see you didn't respond to him, just me. You wan't people like Mystic to ruin this board again, I guess that works for you. I'd rather have a board where people feel comfortable to post without having to deal with trolling garbage from Mystic.

My point on the recruitment is that Collins evaluated a need on the team soon after his arrival at NU and recruited a power forward in his first recruiting class in Skelly. Skelly has skills on offense and defense that are needed on this squad and anyone who has watched this team recently has seen glimpses of development including Coach Collins.

On to responding to Mystic and sorry if some of you are cringing. My memory is that NU was very close to making the NCAA tournament when they had it all-time leading scorer John Shurna and one of its best all-around players Drew Crawford on the team together. In my opinion, Crawford was best at playing SG and Shurna's best position was a SF. All the prior regime needed to do was to recruit successfully a PF and a C to help two of its all-time best players and it did not happen. There were players out there in the Chicagoland area who fit that bill like Duje Dukan from Deerfield (6'8"-6'9") who went to UW and sat on the bench for three years and could have played from Day 1 at NU. There was also a player (6'8"-6'9" PF) from Glenbrook South named Jack Cooley who could have fit in very well at NU. Instead, he went to ND and sat on the bench for his first two years and worked his way to be on the all Big East team by his senior year. That was frustrating for me and for other NU fans that I have talked to who also knew how close we were to making the tourney.

Let us know when Carmody talks pre or post game. Maybe he will thank NU and the kids who played for him for 13 years, while he explains the Princeton O.
