I had the Kansas game on DVR and went back and watched it. Even though we lost that was what Duke Basketball was supposed to look like. Passion, energy, and playing for each other. We have lost that since trying to integrate people back into the rotation. I honestly enjoy it when Duke wins but that is not why I became a fan. I became a fan when I was 8 years old and was able to understand the game a little bit. Duke played hard and it looked like they were playing harder than the opposing team, and even in a few down years always looked like they were playing harder than the opposing team. That is missing right now and that is where my frustration lies.

IMO, when K returns he'll shorten the rotation to 7, install last years high ball screen offense & challenge players to put their lives on the line to win. Either it works or team chemistry spirals further & we become UNC '02, '03 & 10.

Who is number 8 that will no longer get minutes? I just don't see that happening.

Giles & Bolden fight it out for 7th. Staff is married to Tatum so he'll never sit.

Yea, two "lotto" picks fighting for time in the rotation... That will bode well for future classes... C'mon man...

Bolden has been great in the last two games. Matt has been great the last two games. Frank has been better than Allen the last two games. Luke has been quiet, but hasn't made any huge mistakes and shoots very well.

Who is our 5th starter? Amile gets it by default, but he looks hurt and may be costing us under the hoop.

Harry had some decent offensive moves, but on defense he can't affect the game at all. He's OK on the boards, so he'll do as a sub.

Grayson... his shot is broken and his defense has sucked.

Tatum... his efficiency is very bad right now. He is just plain missing shots. He makes decent passes, but could do it even more. His defense is pretty soft under the hoop. I think he tries too hard to avoid fouls.

We are just barely a top 25 team at the moment IMO. If we want to be competitive against the contenders, it's those last two guys that need to elevate to the level we know they can play at. Grayson and Tatum are inconsistent on O and soft on defense. They could be great on defense given their athleticism, and if the shots aren't falling, they could even play the role of elite setup men. If the shots are falling, then by all means, attack the defense. Our season hinges on their output. It's up to those 2 guys. I hope they answer the call.

Am I missing something here? I thought that Kansas, Duke, and the referees were all awful in that game. It was a horrible game and poorly played. I'm not saying the team wasn't better at that point than it is now, but that was no final four team. I shut the tv that night impressed with their ability to come back, but pining for the freshman to return and help out.
