After the NC State game on the CJ video of his press conference Rick bragged on this year's freshman class. He is convinced this year's freshman class is a very good one. I know he knows better than me but I still beg to differ. Hope he proves me wrong yet again!

If they are so good why didn't they play more this year. Lord knows we needed some help from the bench if anything just to give the guys short rest. Rozier having to play 45 minutes today, Harrell and Snider 42 each. I love Rick but I just don't understand it. His trademarks of the 3 point shot and deep bench and disuptive press where the heck did that go to?

Brew, I'm right there with you! I'm baffled by the comments big-time! I think we're somewhat screwed next year if both Harrell and Rozier bolt as expected!

Several reasons.

They didnt pick up the complicated defense. Main reason.

He dumbed it down right before the season ended, but went back to it.


Its complicated balancing PT, with this group. Not enough scoring to get large leads, where you can substitute.

I thought Shaqquan was going yo play like Wayne did today, all season. Be the next Cisco.

Jaylen not getting enough time undid Trez.

I would have rotated Trez, Jaylen, Mangok, Chinanu, and Anas at both positions to keep him fresh.

Actually I agree with Rick. This class will end up to be excellent. They
all have really good potential for the future. They just need get some
experience and grow up into their bodies. Snyder is already great PG. Onuaku need to figure out work ethics. Mahmud need about 20-30 lbs of weight. Johnson and Aaron also good prospects. I see bright future for Cards. Just need a couple more pieces of the puzzle. Besides, how many times Rick need to prove himself before you guys start believing him?

This freshmen class is going to be fine. They're only freshmen. Most of them have three more years...

Unfortunately, most of you look down the interstate and secretly wished we have the team they do. Well, we are doing fine with the unheralded Russ Smith and Luke Hancock of college basketball that grew into their full potential wearing red. Every coach in America want a team of McDonald AA on their roster. They are just not willing to sell their soul for it. Now, if some sleazy coach want to sell his soul and be successful at it, then more power to him. Not all of our Freshman from this year will blossom or become successful and we may yet see a couple of transfer for various reasons. However, the onus is on the players since I know that UL and CRP will provide them with the key to success if they are willing to work hard, play hard and study hard. Proud to be a UL fan.

knock cal all you all want. hes proven he can do what needs to be done with freshmen. pitino needs to let the 80s go andget with the program. time has moved on. adapt and overcome. not 15 seconds worth either. yall HAD A DECENT YEAR AND TO BE HONEST you got lucky to make it as far as you did. it wasnt coaching thats for sure

Lucky? Both UK an UL were one shot away from different fortunes. FAR different fortunes. If we were lucky to beat NC State by 10, then what was UK to beat ND by two?

u of k is there because of the players UofL made it to elite eight because of coaching

UofL loses one of their best players in Feb.(Jones) and still makes elite eight

Uofk loses one of its best players in Feb.(Noel) and loses 1st round NIT to Robert freaking Morris great job cashCal didn't have enough of the top talent to get you through

WWW is top recruiter for UKKK not Cow

As a fan I don't like one and done system. Sure it brings some trophies. But I much rather see kids come in and develop over 3-4 years, then see them gone before you learn their names. Of course, I like winning. But I much rather see players win because they know how to play, instead of because they are 6" higher then their opponent. That's just me.

I think I agree. I believe the frosh will turn out to be a very good class. They need added bulk and strength though - especially Aaron and Anas. Mango started really coming around in my view in the NCAAs. His defense against UC Irvine was critical or we wouldn't have even won that game. I thought he played well, despite his FT shooting and lack of offense (but remember, who do you want trying to score for UL? Rozier? Blackshear? Harrell or Mango?)

I really like what I saw from Mahmoud this year. I think he's going to be very good. Just time, strength and experience is all he needs. He's smart, has good basic skills.

Aaron I think just needs more experience and confidence (and strength). With more playing time, that will come. The rest of the kids - we will have to see. The kid from Norway, I just have no idea. Hopefully he can contribute. I am very hopeful of the incoming class.

Maybe Rozier will decide to stick around one more year. He could work on his outside shooting which fell off the last part of the year.

Snider is a KEEPER! In my view, he's proved himself for sure. A very good point guard and he'll be even better with quality depth, more experience and the ability to take a breather.

Yep going to be tough. The way he is recruiting he must like these huge challenges that drives all of us crazy. We lost Rozier and now Gill with maybe 2 more transfers. I hope we get some 5th year transfer players but the idea he is shopping the JUCO ranks pretty hard is a little scary.
