We have a ton of highly rated linemen recruits. Who's scholarship do you want to take away? Just cause a kid is from Oklahoma doesn't mean they can PLAY!!!

All fair points except maybe Papasitio's.

we'll have scholarships to give, so no on'e loses an offer.
being from OK has less to do with it than Baylor taking the kid. I guess since Baylor offered that still means he can't play and Baylor punking our asses at home by 3 and beating us for 3 out of the last 4 with all that inferior talent that can't play, is a fluke.

Didn't Baylor's class end up like #38 or some such? So would you trade OU's entire class for Baylor's since they whupped OUr ***?

Please.

Thanks Jaaa, one of the rare voices of reason I'll need to cling to if I'm going to stay active here.

Thanks man...I'm encouraged...

38th is low Jaaaaa, but do you know where Baylor's last five classes have ranked? That would seem to be more telling, as those are the players that are beating our team. I don't know, but might have to look that up over the weekend.

Would I take Baylor's 38th ranked class? Depends on if Art Briles and his staff are the coaches. Fact is the Sooners have fallen, and coaching is part of it. Thankfully Bob has come to that realization and is shaking up his coaching ranks, but still remains to be seen if we can win with our top 15 class against Baylor's 38th.

FYI JAA-2014 final rankings recruiting of top 25 over last five years. FInishing 38th this year likely won't slow Baylor down much.

9. Baylor
Recruiting numbers: 165 (average rank of 33rd)
Finish by recruiting rank: 14th
Buzz: The Bears[/URL] are another team that far surpassed its recruiting rankings. Baylor had zero top-25 classes during the five years, and one was outside the top 40. The best was 26th.

So you would swap classes?

A guy whose job it is to evaluate players said about Daniel "Big kid, needs to learn to not play so high and bend at the knees instead of the waist."

He may be an AA before he's done. He may never play a snap.

If he was from Muleshoe, Texas you wouldn't give 2 rips about him.

never said I wanted to swap classes, that was your thought. So he needs to learn to play oline at D1 level, the majority of the hs kids recruited to D1 programs, regardless of position, need to be coached up and learn technique. And you are correct about Muleshoe, Riley is not from Muleshoe, he's from OK. Baylor saw enough raw talent, and size, which you cannot coach, to give the kid a scholarship. considering Baylor's average at best recruiting rating the last five years, it sure hasn't translated to poor results, so it's puzzling Riley didn't get an offer from his home state top tier program. and I'm not saying it's wrong or right, just puzzling. maybe no one believed he could be coached up, who knows? Baylor damn sure didn't mind taking a chance on a big kid who needs to learn, Baylor's success can't be denied, regardless of where their recruits are from. And buddy I am no fan of Art Briles or Baylor. I would prefer he was still coaching hs.

I understand. I've fired off a missive to the coaching staff in Norman that they should sign every single kid in Oklahoma that is over 6'3" 280#'s and coach them up.

I've given the plan a moniker - "Kody Cooke is Good Enough!"

As to Baylor - I happen to have a degree of insight there that not many are allowed. I will tell you - if OU starts doing what Baylor is doing to attract talent then be prepared for the 2nd ever invoking of the NCAA death penalty.

I ain't kiddin'.

I see this different I guess. I see Baylor's results being tied to OU's results. Baylor is being propped up in the rankings because OU isn't getting the job done. OU has made some serious changes in Coaches and philosophy. If this works out, OU will move up and Baylor will move down.

Good for you Jaaa may your missive be made law.I never said OU should sign every OK kid regardless of talent, you reading comprehension is off. Just pointed out one player from OK that Baylor signed and now it's turned into every kid over 6'3 280 in OK. I got it. As for Baylor recruiting tactics, man you're blowing some smoke without any fire for proof, so don't mind if I take your "insight" with a grain of salt. My father's bulls latest heifer heard the same thing, but she too was sworn to secrecy.

Proof?

BTW - if you have to talk about your daddy's bull - well now I have a better clue about who I am talking with.

Proof ha ha, pretty easy to get a pic off the net. But hey nice pic and all the proof you need. Nothing wrong with being a country boy who knows a line of bullsnot or bragging about his "connections" on an internet message board, thus the reference to the bull, are you that slow?,

If you took the time to right click the pic and go to properties you will see it originates from a photobucket account - where I upload pics from my phone.

But by all means, keep your head in the Oklahoma red clay, keep believing that because Baylor offered someone OU missed on him and that everyone is just a fan-boy like yourself with no connections anywhere.

Whatever gets ya through the night junior.
