Which is better? Who has one or the other snd what’s your experience with them? Does Ring require a subscription? We got a simplisafe video doorbell pro as a gift but think it requires a subscription. Does Ring do the same? Which is more versatile?

I have used ring for about 4 years. If you want to record activity, Ring charges 3 bucks a month. If you have several ring products, like I do, it is 10 bucks a month for the group. I like the Ring. No complaints at all. I suppose prices may have changed a little since I started.

Have had Ring for several years and it’s a great product - have it where you can go back several hours and look at activity.

I think they have more products now like whole home and storm light with camera but could be wrong.

I have the door bell camera that came with Vivint. I works fine. Thinking of getting some more cameras for the outside. Haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I’m in process of trying to buy a farm in The middle of nowhere. I won’t be there but on weekends and such, was thinking about a ring flood cam or doorbell strategically placed—there is a trailer and horse barn and altho I won’t be keeping anything super valuable there I do wanna store some stuff (ammo, supplies, etc).

Sorry didn’t mean to hiJack just curious anyone’s thoughts or experiences. Thanks

Install it in reverse. Let your neighbors look in on you

I think there's some real competitors to Ring and Nest. My tenant has something (peacock or something or other) and its far cheaper with the same capabilities.

I have the Ring, its ok. The motion sensor stuff takes a lot of tweaking and the battery is ****. But what annoys me most is that the battery is charged by USB Micro, so it takes, no lie, about 6 hours to charge. They didn't do a USB C, IMO, because they want you to buy a second battery.

But.. I love the neighborhood feature. If anyone in your area gets robbed, accosted, etc, it likely will get reported on there. Great feature for citizens to communicate crimes.

I like it. But I think there are better, cheaper options out now.

We had ADT and the prices kept going up like Dish Network until it was around $65 per month. I cancelled and went with ring to monitor the home and blink cameras. The only reason I didn't go with the ring cameras to match the rest of the system was after watching and reading a lot of reviews the Blink seemed to be better quality picture. It is a pain having it on 2 apps but both are compatible with Alexa so I can just tell it to arm the security system or show me a certain camera and it does.
