Bummed. Cancer sucks man...

This dude was a fixture for me growing up. He was literally on TV the entirety of my life so far. I stayed a lot with my grandparents growing up and I have fond memories of watching Jeopardy with my Grandpa and then going up to his attic with him to look at all the wonderful old books and pieces of history he had collected. He was the same person who would always mute the TV for Kentucky games and listen to the radio, delay be damned. Time marches on...

According to what I’ve seen online. They’ve got enough shows to last till December 25, 2020. His last day onset was October 29 so he went as long as he could apparently.

Out of respect for Alex they won’t announce a replacement for a while. Wouldn’t shock me at all if Ken Jennings takes his place. He’s already been hired as a consultant.

On a serious note, this is really sad. He wanted so much to go out on his own terms and get to do a last show. One of the few games on TV that required some level of true knowledge. I hope it goes on with a new host, and I know he would want it to go on too.

It was a rather boring game show that only displayed how much someone studied random bs trivia. AT was good at it because of his dry humor, but his cult status as a "star" was overplayed.

Give me Plinko and The Shell Game every day on TPIR over someone who can answer Famous Rivers of Guam.
