When I was in high school, we were playing basketball at the rec dept and this older guy came in and wanted to play. He looked pretty rough, probably a little drunk, but we let him run. He crossed half-court, took a shot, and turned to go the other way as soon as it left his hands.

Nothing but net. I was like "WTF??" Next trip, I was gonna D him up. No such luck, nothing but net with me all up in his grill. Dude didn't miss but maybe 3 shots the whole night. Finally, I asked him what his name was and he "Everybody calls me Bird."

Then it finally clicked in my head who he was.

RIP

Cool story (for real). I've never played with a golf pro, but I have played baseball with major league players as my high school coach had several guys practice with us. The "wow" factor in football, in my opinion, is speed and size. So all that said, in my opinion there is nothing like playing basketball against a guy who has NBA talent. They are so freaking good it's insane.

Taken far too soon and so much unfulfilled potential. May your strike zone be enormous and your nagging injuries be few....
