I grew up idolizing Hank Aaron. Sitting this one out.

Chief was funny. The only problem with that line is it's in the same episode where Dwight believes that Ryan's friend is a Tolkien character. It gets overshadowed by that.

Growing up it was Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, and Willie Mays for me. Def sitting this one out.
Totally sitting this one out. Great player and person to boot.
I remember hearing of a number of pitchers that played against Hank. They were discussing how to pitch to different hitters. High fastball to this guy outside curve to that guy. When they got to Hank they were quiet until one of them said "Just make sure the bases are empty when he hits it."

Saw him play at Crosley Field against the Reds in 1967. Aaron went 4-5 and I had never heard of him until then. Started following him after that even though I was a Reds fan.
Still the home run king as far as I'm concerned. He did it without steroids and bandbox stadiums.
Saw him hit two HRs in Riverfront in one game, he is still the all time HR champ in my book. Really good guy, took a lot of crap when he was breaking Ruth's record, was a class act all the way.

Hank took crap when approaching Ruth.
Bonds took crap when approaching Aaron (deservedly so)
McGwire and Sosa were treated as national heroes for 70 and 66.

RIP Hank! This one really hits home hard. A true legend! For you Reds fans, Marty Brennaman's first regular season game at Riverfront on the radio he got to call Hank Aaron tying Babe Ruth's HR record of 714.
Passed away two weeks after taking the covid vaccine on camera as a way to make people feel better about taking it. He said he was so proud to do it in the video. Terribly, terribly sad. RIP to one of the best baseball players, and people in sports history.

I could be wrong, but they used to make the Home Run Derby TV show at a minor league stadium in LA.
One of my favorite Hank Aaron tidbits is take away the HRs and he’s still in the 3,000-hit club. If it’s possible for a legend, he was an underrated all-around player. #RIPHammer
