Great show. Bob Ryan, Mike Lupica, etc.Back in the day Sunday morning on ESPN was the sports reporters.
Dick Schapp hosted and there was a rotation of 4 other reporters. Feinstein was in the rotation. To me, this was a good show. Not really political, just impact of sports on society.
I used to hate watch it. I liked Dick Shapp and later John Saunders but I couldn't stand Lupica or Bob Ryan or Jason Whitlock. some of the others they had on were ok Bill Rhoden and Feinstein were good. I remember him being a big fan of the Patriot League. Mitch Album was always pretty good.Back in the day Sunday morning on ESPN was the sports reporters.

Yeah Lupica and Ryan seemed to whine a lot.I used to hate watch it. Ryan was the epitome of the old guy yelling at the clouds. Someone should have told him to trim his eyebrows, it's not a comb over and to brush his teeth once in a while.Yeah Lupica and Ryan seemed to whine a lot.
He proliferated the idea of Joe had to know.If I remember correctly, John was a big fan of JVP. He once said his favorite college football teams were Columbia, Army, and Penn State. He tried on several occasions to get access to Joe to write a book but it never happened. He was really torn by the Sandusky scandal.
Lupica was insufferable.I used to hate watch it. He had an ego. He and John Thompson disliked each other and that leaked out into Feinstein’s books. That said, A Season on the Brink is a remarkable achievement. He proliferated the idea of Joe had to know.
The people inside Duke were torn on him. On one hand, he helped Duke build an improved image (at one time Duke basketball was the most hated team in sports) but on the other hand he often flouted his relationship with K. On balance, a great sportswriter who had an ego. RIP
I lost Albom after his comments on Namath being drunk on camera. An incredibly stupid take.Lupica was insufferable.
Didn’t know that about JVP. Sad.He proliferated the idea of Joe had to know.

Your right forgot all about him. His career ended almost as badly as Joes.Philly's Bill Conlin also was on the show quite a bit long ago.
Nobody worse than Lupica. Annoying as hell. I never like his writing either.Yeah Lupica and Ryan seemed to whine a lot.
He was a truly great writer and consistently an interesting guest on TV and radio shows. Conversely, he was concept defining ill-mannered, egotistical jerk. Whether it was encounters with him in the DC area or encounters with volunteers at the US Open or other golf tournaments, the stories are the same - Feinstein treated other people like garbage, particularly those he saw as less than himself. That he, Knight, and Thompson didn't get did along is interesting; in many ways, they were a lot alike. He had an ego. He and John Thompson disliked each other and that leaked out into Feinstein’s books. That said, A Season on the Brink is a remarkable achievement.
Bill “One Chair” ConlinGreat show. Bob Ryan, Mike Lupica, etc.
