I used to go to riverfront stadium in the 70s—a lot. we would always go early to watch batting practice (back then you could) before the game started and i remember watching jr closeup warming up—amazing how tall and how hard he could throw the ball.

I can’t play along with this one. Great pitcher. Who knows how great he could have been. Dusty Baker said today on local Houston news that a couple of his teammates got “JR itis“ when he was scheduled to pitch and had mysterious one game injuries.
