Anybody been to see the USS Hornet? It’s the carrier that launched Doolittle’s planes and it’s a museum now. It’s in Alameda, California.

I could be interested in visiting, depending upon input from those who have been there.

The Hornet that carried the Doolittle raid B-25s (CV-8) was sunk about six months later in the battle of Santa Cruz in the Guadalcanal campaign. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Hornet_(CV-8)

The Hornet in Alameda is CV-12, an Essex class carrier originally named Kearsarge but renamed Hornet after the sinking of CV-8. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Hornet_(CV-12)
